I see it somewhat of a double standards. Martinez doesn't want to fight JCC Jr cuz' JCC Jr has his belt. That has nothing to do with it. Martinez doesn't want to fight JCC Jr cuz' he feels Jr is one of the best fighters out there. Martinez is making a business decision. And, he wants Jr because it will be a money fight for him against a very easy even cherry picked opponent.

That's fine, I get and I understand. I have no problem with that.

But, JCC Jr is still a young fighter who can probably still develop. Just like Martinez is picking a JCC as a smart business decision. JCC Jr is doing the same thing. He is stepping up against Rubio which is a very nice match up. He just isn't ready for a Martinez. Lets see how he looks against Rubio. And, hopefully he keeps stepping up the level of comp(Marg ain't it) until he is ready for a Martinez. Right now is too soon.

- fights robert garcia as a comeback fight. looked horrible. won a decision
- gets a title shot out of no where to fight Manny Pacquiao and never won a single round. Lost to a 144 lb fighter who beat the brakes off this fool
- Takes a year off and fights Miguel Cotto and never won a single round. Kept running in circles trying to find Cotto but couldnt do **** to him
- has a bad eye


And now he gets a shot at the middleweight crown? there are far more deserving fighters at 160 who deserve a title shot. tony has no wins at middleweight and will get pummeled. my god this is disgusting to see as a boxing fan. chavez jr is another story I dont even want to talk about this bull **** is pissing me off. its a shame and black eye on the sport for stuff like this to happen

And, I completely agree with that.

Marg shouldn't be fighting period. But, if he wants to put his eye in risk like that. Fine that's up to him. But, he should start from the bottom and earn his shot. But, of course that's not going to happen.

My question is, how is Margarito getting these big pay day fights? It's like, he gets caught cheating, loses to Mosley, and they reward him with a Pacquiao fight. Then they give him another pay day and says..fight Cotto. Then after a loss to Shane Mosley, getting caught cheating, unimpressive victory over a no name Garcia, a loss to Pacquiao and a loss to Cotto, if he gets a fight with Chavez, than boxing is just dead. This is the first time I've seen a criminal get so much reward.

I'm happy Floyd didn't give him a fight.
