This fight will look like Gamboa vs. Ponce, easy UD and if Rios goes for broke and if Gamboa carried his punch to LW (I think he will) Rios will end it up on his back... After the figh alots of fans will say that Rios was a bum and not give credit to YG, still he will show why is one of the best.

Days ago the Gamboa folks said they were sending a contract over to Rios to sign so I'm not sure what happened there. If they fight, Rios late in the fight starts battering Gamboa who slowely withers and then takes too many flush shots from Rios till the Ref stops the brutality. Its the kind of fight that could ruin Gamboa.

I don't see it that way at all. What you're implying is that Gamboa gets worn down. That would mean that Yuri would be taking repeated shots to the head and body. I think Rios should be favored to win this fight, but only because he can take punishment and continue moving forward. What's much more likely to happen is that Brandon nails Yuri with one or two solid shots to the head and takes him out. The fight would probably be over very quickly if Rios catches Gamboa flush.

The flip side is that Yuri would use his superior (and I do mean superior) speed, skill and athleticism to avoid getting tagged and win a lop-sided decision. Ten or twelve rounds is a long time to avoid getting caught, so I lean towards a Rios victory; but it wouldn't shock me if Gamboa pulled an upset and defeated the larger man.

thats why gamboa is one of my favs man he dares to be great, even though i like rios too if gamboa dosent get into a war EARLY then he has way to much foot and hand speed for rios. condition is going to be major in this one. the winner should get major props for this, i think gamboa is already 5 or 6 p4p in world right now

This is a good observation. Gamboa, in my opinion, has a tendency to want to exchange if he gets tagged hard. It's not an uncommon trait. Many fighters instinctively lash out when caught with a good shot. Trouble is, in this case, that would play right into the hands of the naturally bigger man. Yuri has to resist the urge to engage in a firefight. If he doesn't, it'll be a short night.

When this was first mentioned, I was thinking that Gamboa would for sure overcome the size difference with sheer speed and talent.

But after rewatching a couple their fights I'm less confident.

At this point I'm callin' it a tossup.

Regardless, I hope they make this fight and will be rooting for Yuri.

If he wins convincingly it should catapult him to the upper echelon of boxing stars.
