Paulie hasn't had a good win in quite some time, and hasn't had any good wins at 147.

He wants an undeserved title shot, so targetting the weakest champ in the division, but is only willing to do the fight if it's on his home soil so that the champion has to travel thousands of miles. Oh, and his promoter's efforts at staging the fight amounted to offering a low purse bid that they must have known would never be successful.

By his own words about 'the judge is Golden Boy's gopher' he knows his promoters are crooked and look to rob visiting fighters. I don't have any sympathy with him in this situation.

what's up with gbp offering a measly 250k lol ;that belt is potentially worth millions.
I agree with the points for paulie, not so sure with Senchenko. I've seen one fight and it was alright. He looked good, but his opponent was ****.
As for GBP.... I think they didn't give a single ***

I dont see the big deal in this, Paulie M would probably make more money fighting away from the USA... If he goes there prepared then he can win, Didnt he get robbed in his own country against Diaz? So yeah robberies can happen anywhere.

Union Boxing must have a TV network and sponsors that are willing to pay that amount of money for Sechenko's fights.

GBP does not have those suitors for a Malignaggi-Sechenko fight. GBP has a close relationship with HBO, but not even Ross Greenburg run HBO would pay even half of the Union boxing bid for a Sechenko-Malignaggi fight (Paulie ain't Berto).

yeep that's also why pirog-martinez negotiations fell through. there's not going to be much US exposure for either guy if they fight in ukraine. unless by some miracle HBO or showtime pick it up which i seriously doubt.
still unlike sergio paul doesn't have much choice... but i think it's a good fight anyway. would be funny if another one of roach's proteges got exposed in the ring haha!!

Plus it's a WBA belt... so there's like what... 3 of them floating around?
If Paulie holds it though, people will be gunning for him. He'll at least bring it back to the states for another fighter who Senchenko would never fight could win it from him.

in what context were those words used?

Anyway I agree with your post. As a Malingaggi fan I hope he wins, but not the way they were trying to do it. Do it fairly, go to the champion's backyard and outbox him.

After his first fight with Diaz.

I mean, if you're gonna expose GBP robbing visiting fighters, you can't complain too much about a visiting fighter not fighting you on a GBP show.
