No... he'll be a free agent, and not with Top Rank. I see what you're saying, but Cotto doesn't have a contract with Golden Boy, so I don't know why you're saying Mayweather is only fighting Golden Boy fighters.

Its pretty clear what the reason for that is. Arum doesn't want his fighters to fight anyone outside of Top Rank. I don't really think Floyd cares. He doesn't even like Oscar De La Hoya and didn't always get along with Schaefer, but still does business with them, why? B/C he truly knows how to separate personal feelings from business. Arum does not.

if they can make the fight for November then they could make it for May 5th I don't understand Arum's logic here if Manny won't be able to recover from a cut he received on November by May but he will be able to fight in November after fighting in June? if they won't build a new stadium because November is winter season and they will have to fight in MGM why not just fight in the MGM on May 5th?

So what if Floyd wants to fight in Dec after getting out of jail, will Arum bend to fight in Dec or is he stuck on Nov like Floyd stuck on May 5th. What if either loses? Will anyone care anymore or better does anyone care now? I think Pac lost to JMM so the fight has lost some steam in my eyes

Yes I read the whole post, I felt it was the only part worth responding to.

Saying Cotto is a free agent right now doesn't really mean anything because he'll either re-sign with TR if he's fighting Pacquaio or sign with GBP if he's going to fight Mayweather. I mean, I thought that was so evident, that it was not even worth mentioning. But there you go, I explained it for you.

So funny to read people list Mosley as GBP fighter when, at the time he fought Floyd, his contract with them had already expired.

That sounds an awful like a free agent to me - like I said in my original post.\

I also said in my original post that the reason that Mayweather hasn't fought anyone outside of Goldenboy is because Arum doesn't want to do business with him or Goldenboy. Most of the fighters that Mayweather could fight are with one of the two companies, so obviously if one company doesn't want to do business with him, he'll fight boxers from the one that will.

I also said that Mayweather has proven that he doesn't care who he does business with as long as the money is right - as evidenced by his relationship with De La Hoya, Schaefer, and now pursing a fight with Cotto.
