    No doubt.

But yeah 30 years old at 147 and a top of their game, um ok.

    Nah, he just retired.
sure, he retired. and for the last year and a half, cotto should have done the same thing. hes fought trash. i really dont see ppls arguments in favor of cotto being this great fighter. hes a megastar a cash cow just like floyd and his career had a very simliar patter, the difference being floyd kept winning, and cotto lost his biggest fights and lost a step as well. if that makes him better, because he got his ass beat then cong****.

Easy to do that when you never attempted to fight them.

          Thanks for the softball homey!

cotto would go life and death with guys that if they fought floyd we would complain was a "cherry pick"

cotto is a good fighter and good guy. he is also very entertaining.

but he just isn't anything more than that. his skills , resume , legacy , etc. is overrated.

he's just a good fighter. people try to make him more than that and he's not.

So Mayweather was smarter than Cotto for not taking the risks?

              Maybe

floyd is trying to fight pac now.

pac's team is ducking , dodging , parrying the fight like they were pernell whitaker.

I don't think Cotto is great. I think it's good he took the risks.

Floyd could have done the same and come out a lot better.

i don't agree with that. look at the welterweight rankings for 2008.

                      1. margarito -fought
                      2. cotto -can't fight himself
                      3. mosley -fought
                      4. clottey -fought
                      5. pac -fought

                      9. berto -didnt fight
                      10. hlatschwayo -didnt fight

compare that to floyd's resume at 130 for 2000

                      1. Diego Corrales -fought
                      2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. - cant fight himself
                      3. Joel Casamayor -didnt fight
                      4. Acelino Freitas -didnt fight
                      5. Steve Forbes -didnt fight

                      9. Yong Soo Choi -didnt fight
                      10 Roberto Garcia -didnt fight

cotto fought every relevant welter except floyd who wouldn't fight him and williams who no one wanted to fight. floyd's never cleaned out or even tried to clean out a division. cotto's record paid the price for fighting everyone while floyd cherry picked from division to division the easiest possible come forward opponents, corrales, castillo, gatti, baldomir etc...he never fought guys like casamayor, johnston, ksyzu, cotto, pac.
