He just doesn't punch hard enough for the weight he fights at. Also, his face gets busted up even when he wins.

Besides, I don't want to see his wife and kids run out of the arena before the fight is over because the can not watch Cotto endure any more punishment.
wow shot with 3 wins in a row and mayweather would win but he aint busting him up learn the game before you speak Money is not a pressure fighter he is a counter puncher this would be a boxing match that ends with cotto losing but not a beatdown

umm why is cotto shot? didnt he win 3 fights in a row? the dude is a warrior and he has plenty of fights left in him IMO, i wouldnt mind watching cotto mayweather fight. back in the 140 days, I always said cotto would be the only one to trouble floyd in the ring, and I still hold true to that, but no longer unfortunately for cotto...

he isnt shot. he still has alot left imo. but his last 3 wins in a row are not too much to shout about. peg leg foreman, mayorga and cyclops margarito. none of those guys are what id consider p4p type fighters.

Winning 3 fights in a row doesn't mean you're not shot. Roy Jones had won 3 fights in a row against similar type of competition that Cotto faced before fighting Joe Calzaghe. And, then won 2 fights in a row after Calzaghe and didn't look that bad against Lacy. Doesn't mean he wasn't shot. Because, he was. His competition was just awful.

Is Cotto shot? Maybe, maybe not. But, he damn sure is done at the elite level. That much is evident.

Why is it so hard for people to grasp this? And it's no disrespect to him, it is what it is.

Depends on what your definition of elite is. If your definition of elite is Pac and Mayweather then yea, Cotto can't compete.(Although I think we'd be surprised with a Pac rematch...not that he'd win but he'd do better).

But outside of Pac and Floyd, there isn't anyone from 147-154 that he can't compete with. Those aren't necessarily great fighters but like I said...depends on what you consider elite.

I would consider Martinez at 154 elite. And, i don't think Cotto can be competitive with him either.

He is probably done or maybe hes not, but how the hell is he done at the elite level. The only ppl i see that could be cotto is pacquiao, mayweather and sergio. Thats it!!! Hes still one of the top fighters in my eyes. These young guys cant beat him.

The only thing good that will come out of a Pac-Cotto rematch is that I would have the Prince(ss) account.
