Entertainment wise, Rigondeaux and Donaire will make for a better fight. But Floyd-Pac is for all the marbles so to speak, and will forever be mentioned in boxing history. It's close for me, but Rigo-Donaire is #2 in the top fights I want to see. Thanks to Arum, we might not see either come to fruition.

you of all people should know that it doesnt have to be Gatti-Ward, Hagler-Hearns to be a great fight, atleast not from the eyes of a purist like yourself & I. I appreciate the sweet science more than anything else. With that being said, it wont be Gatti-Ward but I dont think its Oscar-Tito or Oscar-May. I think it will be a pretty exciting fight, even if it ends up kinda one sided as the fight progresses.

What if Pac ask you to be his trainer Scully. You think the fight will be more interesting?

yes, of course but realize this: The majority of the eyes watching this fight will be casual fans and even non-fans...just people trying to see what all the fuss is about...they will watch when they never watched before...and if its not Hagler-Hearns type stuff then all the back stories will mean NOTHING to them...the weight of boxing is on their shoulders and they NEED to fight harder than normal even...Floyd, even if he doesnt put on a SUPER SPECTACULAR BOXING DISPLAY and just wins an easy decision, that would be OK by me but the people who pay the bills wont be happy...

i agree with that. Still, I think Floyd breaks him down & stops him late

Mares vs Donaire by far better than Ringondeux vs Donaire!

I couldn't agree more. It would be a bit like Floyd vs. Oscar as well.

No way that the Pac vs. Floyd fight would live up to the expectations.

No. I have no interest to see Donaire face him. That fight would be awful.

And I like chess matches normally.

This is definitely a sub that I can stomach. I always thought Floyd beats Pac very easily. I think Donaire keeps Rigo at a distance too easy but Gamboa is fast enough to make it a rough road. It would be an easy second place for real fight fans. I hope they make it happen.

Not really. Mayweather would end up winning a boring decision but Mayweather v Pac would be the biggest fight in boxing in this era. But Donaire Rigondeaux would be a great fight of future HOF's. Rigondeaux is also a Top Rank fighter so this fight is more of a possibility than May v Pac. My prediction would be Donaire by a close decision. I expect Arum to possibly build this fight up when both eventually move up to 126.
