Get a clue little child. Taylor beat Pavlik and Cuban Gonzalez beat Bowe in the amateurs and BOTH were knocked out in the pros by the guy they beat. This is the pros and Gamboa is a star who is exciting, Rigo is a new title holder. Learn a little something about amateur/pro boxing and boxing marketability before you post and give away your age.
Well Garcia states that they want to fight Gamboa not Rigo, maybe he doesn't know that Rigo beat twice Gamboa back in Cuba. Stop the ducking please
I've heard this before; but at this point, it's just a footnote. Those fights were some time ago, under amateur rules. I'm not saying Rigo can't beat Gamboa now, but the fact he did so in the past doesn't necessarily mean he'll beat Yuri in the present.
On another note: I like Rigo, but I like Gamboa better. Yuri is far more exciting to watch. I hope that, as he gains pro experience, Guillermo starts to add some more consistent aggression to his game.

When Guillermo poors it on and throws combo's, he's exciting as hell. BUT, he's a counter puncher who needs his opponent to be agressive, in order to exciting all the time.
That's why Rigondeaux-Donaire would be exciting. Nonito wouldn't try to out-box Rigo, it wouldn't work. He would come to Rigo and make it a fight, and Rigo would throw way more often. He could have and SHOULD HAVE KO'd Ramos in the 2nd. All he had to do was just throw a quick combo and Ramos was going down.
Nonito Doanire will NOT fight Rigo though, you can count on that. And than all the Pacquiao fans and Nonito fans will just say "Who the f**k is Rigo??? No one knows him". It's funny as hell.

I agree, Rigo can be exciting; it's just that the lulls in his activity are almost embarrassingly boring. It's never good when a world-class fighter gets booed for inactivity. I hope Guillermo and his crew took note of the crowd reaction versus Ramos.
It appeared to me that "El Chacal" could've taken Rico out in the first round. Mr. "I'm Fair but I'm Firm" Cortez delayed the action and cost Rigo a few seconds when he was giving Ramos the count. I was screaming at the TV. It was clear that Cortez's **** up in the Mayweather-Ortiz fight was still weighing heavily on his mind.
As for Donaire-Rigondeaux, I've already expressed my views on that. I don't blame Nonito and his people for selecting safer, more profitable alternatives to Rigondeaux. It sucks for the fans, but it's the way it is.
He's already making excuses. I like Garcia too, but he sounds like a promoter rather then a trainer. Yeah Donaire can fight Arce, move up and fight Lopez for more money. If Donaire wants to be recognized as a great fighter then he should fight the best in his division. Rigo is arguably the best @ 122.
That's exactly what I was thinking, fight Arce but not Rigondeaux?...Then apparently jump a division and fight Lopez (a fight Nonito may well lose, despite all Lopez's flaws), then he'll supposedly take on Gamboa?...Gamboa's a pie in the sky fight and will never happen, it's just Garcia's way of creating a smoke screen. If he uses the names of Gamboa and Lopez, then perhaps people will swallow what they're being spoon fed and not see this snub for what it clearly is, a duck plain and simple!
El chacal hasn't even fought a durable Mexican with power with pressure. He fought an irish (Ricky hatton look alike) any relation? and Ramos looks like that kid from.Come on, now! all the sudden he is an ATG? let him prove himself first.

Who's saying Rigo is an ATG? lol
Guillermo has great potential. It's plain as day, from his skills to his accomplishments. Whether "El Chacal" lives up to his professional potential is another story. You're right, he needs to eventually prove himself against a wide variety of fighters, but you can't knock his fans' excitement. Rigondeaux, at this stage in his career, promises much more than is commonly seen from other fighters.
Rigo's problem is he is boring, and was against Rico and Cordoba and that means no star power, especially compared to fellow Cuban Gamboa. And at 31 for his weight, that is ancient. He would be on a suicide mission against Donaire or be reduced to the same fate as Narvaez.
No, this time Nonito would actually be fighting somebody from a weight class above him. Someone with a lot more power, boxing ability and ring I.Q, than the likes of Narvaez, Montiel and Darchinyan. I think you need to assess who it is that Donaire actually beaten, then watch Rigondeaux box. There's no point in making a "knee jerk assumption" about a fighter, just because you think they're boring. Base your opinion upon boxing ability and nothing more!
