    I wonder why they didn't make those same excuses with Clottey. Didn't Jose Santiago train Cotto for that fight as well?

        Didn't he also say Pac is a blown up 126 pounder?

        I swear these dudes think with their heart too much.

            Weight is not going to be a factor in this fight because:

            1. more weight does not translate into more punching power;
            2. Cotto does not use his weight to his advantage; and,
            3. added weight does not improve your ability to take a punch.

            Cotto is not appreciably taller than Manny, so any weight gain has only made Cotto slower.

            If they fight, Manny simply hits Cotto at will. If Cotto comes in, Manny moves side to side and catches him with a big punch. If Cotto backs up (as he did against Margo) Manny tracks him down and breaks up his face.

            If Cotto can't land any meaningful punches, and can't take any meaningful punches, how is he going to win?
            So more muscle doesn't make you punch harder or help you take a punch better? What the ****, so why can a heavyweight hit harder than a lightweight? It can't possible be because they are bigger as you say, so what exactly is the reason? Cotto has put on 10 pounds of muscle, if you think Cotto at 154 can't take and give a punch better than at 145 the first time he fought Manny then you are a complete idiot.

              People need to stop saying the weight isn't going to help Cotto, because if it was the same Cotto that fought Manny the first fight I would agree. But there are 3 main reasons Cotto can win this time around.

              1. Weight - It is a plus, anyone saying otherwise is an idiot. I'm not saying Cotto was drained at 145 what I am saying is that he is better at 150+ (power, stamina and chin.) Cotto is not fighting Margarito and his power did get Manny's attention, it will do so even more at 150+

              2. Trainer - I think this is a bigger reason than the weight. I mean seriously, look at Kirkland/Wolfe. A fighter can have all the tools but needs the right person to put them together. I've said it countless times Cotto had no gameplan for Manny just slug it out and figure you win. Look at him now simply his footwork and not staying still, all these people saying Manny is so great. The guy (just as Marquez showed) doesn't know how to cut off the ring, he just follows guys arounds. Cotto might not counter quite as good as Marquez but his footspeed is faster, he has more power and the guy was an amateur for 10 years, STFU saying he can't box.

              3. Marg is out of his head.

                Nah man, I never ever saw Santiago as anything more than a nutritionist. Regardless of how people called it, it doesn't change the fact that he was no help to Cotto. The fact is he isn't a trainer at all. More like yes man who tells you what to eat. I thought Cotto would have beat Pac on a punchers chance, about it. No one will beat Pac w/o a trainer to correct his mistakes. Cotto has a real, accomplished trainer now. Still, I don't think he will spank Pac, more like give him a better fight and possibly win. I mean, he did win 4 rounds on all judges cards in their first fight, the man can box. Roach says Cotto ***ed up when he tried to KO Manny, I agree. Even Floyd respects Cotto's skill and thinks he's talented. And he lost confidence in himself after getting beat down by Cheato. Also lost his love for boxing and lost some skill, mainly balance. He got that love back and a greater trainer than ever.

                Thx for the previous GK.

                  This right here^. Its funny when Manny himself says weight was a big problem for Cotto but the Cotto haters still doubt weight was an issue. SMH

                    If weight is not an issue for Manny and people say he can beat Cotto at any weight, then why Manny said that he won't fight Cotto above 147? Man up to 150. Do it! It would be a more credible fight for Pac's resume if he beats Cotto at that weight. Beat Cotto at a more comfortable weight for him and sure everyone will stop calling u The Catchweight King...
