Showtime commentators did seem a bit biased tonight.

Arum wouldn't risk a cash cow against a Cuban in a fight that promised fireworks (Lopez-Gamboa). Call me skeptical of him making this fight when the chance of fireworks is MUCH less.

Rigo needs a fighter who come to get him to build some push. Arce, while unlikely, would be perfect. He'd have no chance to win but would make it fun while he got mowed. It's just as uncompetitive as Donaire-Arce would be but actually has some purpose in the slaughter.

Arum will try to build yet another fight people want to see NOW, until one of the fighters loses badly and the match up loses it's luster. Like who sees Gamboa-Lopez as a 50-50 fight right now, and who saw it as 50-50 before Lopez lost by TKO? I know a lot of people were not sure who was better, and probably still aren't sure. But it doesn't take a boxing expert to see Gamboa is better.

I always saw it as 55-45 for Gamboa, with the fight definitely ending in a TKO and the winner would have left no doubt he's the better of the two, and both men would have traded KD's. The fight can still happen, but rather than the odds being even, now there will be an underdog in the fight, which is Lopez. And then if Gamboa actually wins, it'll just be that the guy people thought was gonna win, won the fight.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

What I'm trying to say. Is if people are basing who would win cuz' of the Narvaez fight. Then they're mistaken. Because, if that's the case then lets point out the Cordoba fight for Rigo. Cordoba might arguably be the best opponent Rigo has faced thus far. And, Rigo didn't look impressive at all against him.

But, again you can't base the Cordoba fight for Donaire favor. Just like you can't base the Narvaez fight for Rigo favor.

I think it's an interesting match up. I think it can easily be a stinker too. It's hard for me to pick the winner right now. I hope it gets done at the end of the year after Donaire is done with WV2 and Arce.

Was impressed with Rigo from a skill a and technical POV even if it wasn't the most entertaining fight, his boxing craft is outstanding.

Donaire/Rigo is a very interesting fight if it goes down, hope it does.

'Agree 100% It seems like Arce would be perfect for Rigo to build on

Rico fought scared, no doubt, but I respect the kid. As you know, it takes stones to get in there. And, let's face it, Rico isn't in Rigo's league...and he knew it. Ramos was psychologically defeated, even before that left hook to the liver.

I'm happy but not satisfied with Rigo's performance. "El Chacal" is still finding his legs as a pro. I hope, and expect, that he'll be awesome to watch after just a few more fights. Right now, he's getting the job done. There's more to great boxing than that. It's a show. Give the fans what they want.
