Comments Thread For: Povetkin Grabs Gavern To Be a Huck Clone in Sparring

WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16 KOs) has retained the services of Jason Gavern (21-9-4, 10 KOs) as a key sparring partner for the upcoming defense on February 25 against WBO cruiserweight king Marco Huck (34-1, 25 KOs). Povetkin's team believe Gavern can imitate the style of Huck quite well, including some rule-bending tactics inside the ring. The two of them should start sparring very soon in Povetkin's camp in Russia, where Gavern has already arrived.

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly Teddy did for Povetkin, besides waste a couple years of his prime and cut his punch output by half.

Well, in his last fight against Boswell Povetkin was verry sharp and accurate.
I really liked him in that fight, signs of improvements finally showed up. But now he cant work with Atlas its a shame. It takes time to change a fighter. I wonder who will train Povetkin? Will Atlas at least stand in his corner??
