If the winner is guaranteed a shot at either Klitschko, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get heavyweights involved.

Would make a good tournament.

I'd personally drop Dimitrenko. Just far too much of a liability; I could see him pulling off some Dirrell stunt to get out of fighting undisirable opponents or just leaving the tournament entirely.

Solis is still injured I think, and despite being the lesser talent I'd rather see Perez get the shot. He's at least fit, in good shape and willing to fight the best.

This idea is ******ed. The SMW and HW situations are completely different. At SMW it was good because it helped clarify the division with numerous belt holders and top contenders. HW has it's dominant fighters with K2 and alot of the contenders just need to grow balls and fight them.

- Both brothers wouldn't participate since they wouldn't be willing to fight eachother

- Include neither of them and you're simply removing 6 top contenders from being able to fight the HW Champions for approx 2 years. Volodymyr will be 37and Vitali 42 by then and near retired if not already.

- Including only one brother is a possibility but again you're basically removing top contenders from fighting the other brother.

I'd rather see both brothers continuing to fight a line up of top contenders like they have been then a half dozen top HW's avoiding fighting the HW Champions and limiting their title defense pool. If they did this HW S6 in two or three years after Volodymyr retires to help determine a new #1 HW then i would be a supporter. To do it right now is antiproductive and ******.

Great idea. Why not expand it to include Frank Bruno, Henry Akinwande, Horace Notice, Gary Mason (he could still beat half of the above) and Scott Welch (he looked good in Snatch).

The UK has some decent young heavies in Chisora, Fury, Price, Sexton, Olubamiwo and even Dallas & Tower. Of course, Big John could cause an upset this weekend.

The public know the heavies i posted and they have fought many close battles before. The fact is Audley Harrison sells!.

Sauerland was talking about a tournment in the Cruiserweight division but that never happened and trying to make a tournment in the heavyweight div. will never happen either unless all the boxers are from Sauerland's stable. fighters dont want to be tied up in a tournment for years that's why so few tournments are made and are hard to make.

I agree with most of this, but the basic idea of a tourny isn't a bad one if you set your sights a little lower. One of the main problems in the division at the moment is fighters of a similar level not fighting each other but relying on padded records to help them to the top contender spots. A tourny would ensure competitive matchups and exposure for the participants without fear of obscurity were they to suffer a loss. Sort of like a higher level version of the Contender minus the knockout format. I dunno, I think it's worth a try at least.
