Manny fought Cotto just two lbs south of Cotto's weight class and got a ****storm for it. He fought Margarito three lbs NORTH of Margarito's weight class (150) and got copped a lot of criticism for it too, even though Tony had been at 147 for years. The same heat must come down on Floyd.

Honestly, if it's not Pacquiao, Floyd's best choice is Canelo. Arum won't give him Cotto. Canela is unbeaten, marketable, capable, a Mexican, and the fight is on Cinco de Mayo. That one will do at least 1.3 million on PPV and maybe even higher if they promote it properly. Hell, it could even be a good fight.

Good point man, and Martinez is the one who has essentially begged for a fight with either of those guys at 150. I am all for it, simply because Pac dont want none, and Martinez is a beast..... but lets face it, catch-weights are ****, I would much prefer that fight at 154, it would be the best possible fight that could be made within the sport of boxing..... certainly better than Pac/May.

Just a bit ago another article said that if he were to fight Cotto that it wouldn't be a any catchweight because he likes to fight people at the weight they are comfortable in( completely ignoring how he did to JMM) and now he says that a 150lbs for Martinez would be fine....

Mayweather seems to be talking a lot of BS as of late and the masses seem to be eating it all up. Again, the guy talks too much, does too little. As always

I'm pretty sure it stated he was at an event and someone stated to Floyd, "Sergio Martinez has offered to come down to 150 to fight you." Floyd simple stated "he can get to 150 we can make it happen"..if they said "Martinez said he will come down to 154." I'm sure he would have stated, if he can make 154 we can make it happen......Floyd never requested the catchweight, it was offered to him...wtf is he suppose to say no?

Floyd should just do 154. He won't get credit for 150.

Floyd will get props because hes fighting someone at a weight in which he has fought before, but doesnt campaign in. It would be different if Floyd was asking to fight martinez, and begging every other interview only to say lets make this happen at 154. I honestly would have no problem if manny fought him at 150 (sergio). Because while many bring up that floyd has fought at 154, he didnt weigh 154, and that is not his weight class neither does he hold a title currently at that weight class. If you beg for a fight then by default ya gonna get ****ed.... Because you are at the mercy. Floyd isnt gonna win a title for this fight if they stay at 150.... This is what floyd stated. He doesnt fight for catchweight titles.... On the other hand this is what Manny does, he fights for titles at weight classes against drained opponents, and he calls them out to boot!!!! Floyd has been called out by sergio. Sergio went on the record of saying 150, Floyd isnt obligated to fight sergio, no more than steve cunningham is obligated to fight Vitali Klitscho.... No more than bam bam rios is obligated to fight ortiz after his berto fight. It is what it is. Floyd never called out sergio. This is a fact, another fact is once again, sergio started hollering what weight he would be willing to fight floyd/manny at. Manny said come down to 147, but had previously entertained he would fight him at 150. Floyd is simply accepting Sergios offer.

And please guys dont give me this **** about if he cares about his legacy, or if he wants to be considered great etc. FLOYD IS ALREADY GREAT!!!!!! POINT BLANK!!!!

I agree whole heartedly...... I hate catchweights, but it will still be an entertaining fight, and I am cool with a catchweight (CANT BELIEVE I AM SAYING THAT ****) If its not for a belt and if the one with the power isnt making it so. That was my problem with manny. He would have all the bargaining chips and then drain yo ass. Where as this is a little different as The opponent is asking floyd to fight at this weight. Prior Floyd never called SERGIO out nor committed to any remarks by sergio. If Floyd was fighting him for his title at a catchweight..... THAT **** WOULD PISS ME THE HELL OFF!!!

The worst thing in boxing is a fight for a title at a catchweight.... Thats like Steve cunningham telling Vitali come on down in weight, steve whoops and then claims hes great... **** wouldnt fly with me.... Because I know Vitali would tax that ass..... The smaller guys must move up, or the other party must initiate the weight stipulations.... I still wouldnt like it, but its bearable...
