some people already raging over this. martinez is the one who said 150 so he now he has to stick to his word. god i hope this gets made. i wish it was at 152 or 154 but whatever, just as long as martinez can make the weight and gets his payday/shot at the best fighter on the planet. Yeah Sergio said he would fight them at 150 but they did not take the fight when it was offered. Martinez carries 160 alot better today then when the challenge was offered. Mayweather just needs to step up to at least 154 at least and make that fight happen. No one cares to see a fight where both fighters are not 100%. Or let Martinez fight at the 154 max and Mayweather can come in at the min. Leonard did it a few time and kept his speed, power and skill.

Even so, yes. It'd just look a bit cheap as far as credibility goes. I understand that Martinez is the bigger man, and Floyd has the right to try to get any advantages he can gain to be at his own comfort zone against him, but it just wouldn't be beneficial for Martinez at all. 147 is so much more closer to 150 than 154 is to 160. At the end of the day, I think it would affect him and keep him out of his comfort zone.

Martinez/Macklin could easily be cancelled. And Dan Rafael just said Andy Lee may drop out of the card for a bigger fight (title fight?) so that's a good excuse as any to cancel the fight since that would ruin the whole St. Patrick's theme.

Against Pacquaio maybe, but 150 is just too damn low for Martinez versus Mayweather, the latter whom is just too damn strong (in the clinches) at 47 to begin with. If Martinez is insistent that he can go that low just for this huge payday, then I pray that Dibella is smart enough to lobby for a luncheon weigh-in on Friday. That way Martinez will have more like 35 hrs to rehydrate rather than just 30 hrs.
