Have GBP tried to sign Lamont?

Seems like this would've been a smart move. Arum is obviously looking to sign him to a deal with the possibility of a Pac fight or Bradley rematch, but GBP could do some kind of deal where Lamont gets to face Floyd but then must face Khan in his next fight, win or lose. That would likely satisfy everyone.

If Pac isn't facing Floyd then Lamont is a realistic possibility and would make more sense from a boxing perspective as they are closer in size and have a bit of a backstory due to the claims made about their sparring session. Obviously Canelo is a much bigger draw but that's not the only factor, or at least it shouldn't be.

Even if Floyd isn't interested there's the LP-Ortiz rematch or he could face the Maidana-Alexander winner or even Morales.

I think it would be in GBP interests to outbid Arum and get the guy under contract. It would also mean an end to all the crying from Khan and his team, which would be a real relief at this point.

My first logical thoguht would be "No way, not after all the **** GBP talked about that fight. Peterson would never sign with them."

Then again Nate Campbell, who **** talked GBP when he was with King, ended up signing with them so anything is possible.

Probably... He's done better being a free agent after Top Rank wasted their time, so the assurances must be enough for Lamont to want to sign to another promoter.

It sounds as though Arum is counting on seducing L. Peterson with the promise of a Pacquiao fight and Bradley rematch (he's not getting either without signing with Top Rank again). The allure of a possible Pacquiao fight is strong. Not just the money, recognition, etc. that comes with it, but Pac is perceived as an easier opponent than Mayweather.
