See I dont think HBO would wanna take that fight if its over in Denmark nor his promoter. But I think since Ward already dominated Kessler once, And if he doesn't wanna go directly into a Bute, Fight Kessler in a Denmark as a tune-up and yet earn possibly 4-5 Mil on Showtime and prove yourself to the world like you did when you won gold or the super six.

Because seriously other then Kessler Who's offering Ward an Easy 4 Mil paycheck and possibly gate money of 30-40k attendance in Denmark, who else can he fight and make that much with?

Froch? No, no one wants to see that rematch even in the UK..

    Chavez? Never

Martinez? Martinez ain't gonna move up and yet not a fight people wanna see either..

Andre Dirrell? No because I doubt him and Dirrell would wanna fight as Dirrell would still need a tune-up, and it's not a big money fight. If Dirrell got anything left he'll pursue either Stiglitz Belt or Bute's Belt. Then fight Abraham or Froch in a rematch before he targets Ward.

Anthony Dirrell? Even though he's number 1 WBC I doubt he wants to make that fight yet, but after a bigger match between Ward and either Bute or Kessler, I think HBO would be interested in this if say Anthony got another big name under his belt on HBO After Dark possibly Wards under card.

Stieglitz? Neither will leave they're own country and If Ward denies a rematch in Denmark why fight Stieglitz at his home? Althought I think Showtime would be interested in making that.

Abraham? He would have to work his way back up to even deserve a rematch. Atleast 3 or 4 more fights against a champ or another top 10 rank.

175 or above? Even if he ever goes that high it wont be till after he cleans shop at 168 as the bigger money fights are all there.

So honestly they're all his possible options but if he doesn't fight Bute yet, Kessler is the only logical fight.. And honestly if Ward/Bute landed in say Oakland or Vegas or AC, he's not gonna make no where near as much as he would fighting him in Canada, because Bute is a sellout there and would fill an Arena that big himself. Cant get that in the US..

Haha unless Calzaghe wants to come out of retirement and put the gloves back on and see what's good.

that's the only valid reason for Ward to take the fight

Kessler to get pummeled - again

you'd be right if they hadn't fought

did you see the fight, dude?

watch it again if you dont recall

it was not competitive in the least
how is a partially blinded kessler going to do any better this time around?

A Kessler who's not 'partially blinded', as he was in the first fight, should do better with 20/20 vision.

I agree that the fight was a bit more competitive at times than others are saying and he was in position to earn a rematch with Ward had he stayed in the tourney....but I don't think Kessler's eye will ever be 20/20 again.

It was nothing too major, but he took a couple of right hands in his return bout that I don't think he could fully see. It just didn't look like his normal reaction to getting hit but he went on to KO the dude so maybe I'm wrong. Can't hate on him trying to make a big fight since his time may be limited with that eye.

It might serve Ward to try to go overseas to fight since the majority of the support for the Super 6 came from the UK. In a way, he might be more popular/respected for his accomplishments over there than he is here. Not sure how they plan on promoting him further just yet. WEll see

Ward is tremendously respected over here that's for sure.

I dont have a problem with the fight considering the controversy of the 1st meeting. It was a rematch that should have straight after the 1st fight but obviously both were in contract for the super 6 tournament so it couldnt happen.

It was a rematch destined for the final as Im sure Kessler would have beaten Green had he not pulled out. He was promised winner of super 6 anyway so I think its probably right that it happens. However it should not be in Oakland again. It makes more sense for everyone to have the rematch in Denmark. Ward wouldnt be allowed to get away with headbutts so therefore we get a more competative fight if Kessler inst blinded by cuts.
