Comments Thread For: Team Povetkin Feel Ready To Tackle a W. Klitschko Bout

Boxing manager Vladimir Hryunov believes his fighter, WBA "regular" heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 16KOs) is ready for the challenge of WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49KOs). There were negotiations in the past. Povetkin withdrew with an injury in 2008 and then his trainer, Teddy Atlas, withdrew him from a scheduled fight in 2010.

povetkin has gained some experience since his last withdrawl. he will also get paid more money when he finally fights wlad.he's got a decent resume now but he still has yet to have his chin tested vs a big puncher. this could be a problem.

Well we know Wlad could ko anyone with the right shot but I think this is a good matchup. Povetkin is the best guy in the division besides the Klitschko's and after he's been beaten, the Klitschko's will have completely annihilated the whole division. I can't wait for this fight. Then Haye and Pov can fight for the 3rd slot after Vitali destroys David.

wlad will take povetkins lunch money.....

and haye should have to put a little more work in before he deserves another title shot after his performance, or lack thereof, last time. there is always a chance that perhaps his balls dropped and he's coming to fight this time, but i'm not counting on it because i put up with years of his big talk before.....

Povetkin is skilled, but he has one big problem: his short arms. Seriously, he's got stubs compared to Wlad.

He's going to get hammered while trying to get close enough to hit Wladimir.
