Judge Saragosa: "Punishment is appropriate," Sentencing Mayweather to 90 days in Jail, sentence set to begin Jan. 6.

Bob Arum: "I'm not married to May 5th, so Manny could fight on another date in May. If Manny's opponent is Marquez, I'd be married to the date"

Judge Saragosa: "Mr. Mayweather has an obligation to this court, but given the fact that Mr. Mayweather has these obligations, I am going to grant your request." Referring to fight obligations for May 5th date and postponing jail time to June 1st. This occurred the day Floyd was to commence his Jan 6 Jail sentence.

Floyd Mayweather: "Manny Pacquiao I'm calling you out let's fight May 5th and give the world what they want to see. My Jail Sentence was pushed back because the date was locked in. Step up Punk."

Mann Pacquiao: "I am meeting with my promoter, Bob Arum on Tuesday and I will insist that the fight with Mayweather be given the preference than the four others in the list I will fight next. That I will abide by his demand for drug testing. I am even agreeable to get lesser purse just so the fight would push through. In other words, as far as my side is concerned, there will be no problem"

Bob Arum:Manny has a severe cut, which Pacquiao suffered in a November win over Juan Manuel Marquez, which would prohibit the Filipino star from fighting until late spring, at the earliest.

Bob Arum: "They are not going to get him [Cotto].”Arum also doesn’t appear to want Mayweather fighting one of his guys WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto.

Micheal Koncz: "Why would I tell Manny to fight on the 5th and throw away a percentage of 30 million? That’s crazy,” Referring to a new temporary stadium being built just for a potential Mayweather - pacquiao fight.

Freddy Roach:"They do take time to heal, but I don't think that's a big issue, to be honest with you," Roach said, recalling how during his boxing career he suffered three cuts in a fight, each of which needed about eight stitches, and fought a month later. He also said Pacquiao would be OK to fight May 5

Bob Arum: "I want to hear Mayweather is willing to fight on June 9th, and then we can put a fight together between him and Pacquiao"

Jinkee Pacquiao:He wants Cotto.” she told philstar.com referring to Manny's decision when he met with Arum regarding his next opponent.

you know what i couldn't help but notice?

        - Ortiz intentionally fouling Mayweather then looking at the referee like an idiot instead of having his hands up.

        - Mosley attempting to intentionally foul Floyd and then complain to the referee when he got a warning, then start whingeing to Mayweather, talking instead of putting his hands up.

        - Gatti, looking at the referree, no hands up.

even if you weren't a huge Floyd fan objectively this is not even worth noting. this is boxing. Why aren't you complainng about the fact that Maidana tries to hit the opponent when they try to touch gloves on a reset??? Or the hundreds of other fighters, who have hit fighters when they are down on a knee (MP included)????

The reason Floyd is dishing it out and isn't on the receiving end (like Molsey, Gatti and Ortiz) is because he is better than them. it's simple really.

In terms of the "what have you done for me lately" factor, Mayweather is overrated. I would like to see him fight an average of 1.5 - 1.75 fights a year. (Don't break your head over the math). Fundamentally he's superb, but the fact that he fights so infrequently does little more than have me believe that he is just a little better than most good fighters out there. No, i'm not coughing up people who I think could beat him. I'm just saying that I wish he would fight more often to eliminate that much more doubt.
Personally, I think the guy would clean up, and be in some "wars" -- at least for him -- which would sway many an opinion.

I feel the same way, wish Floyd was more active. But isn't it amazing how he can take these long lay offs and come back looking superior as ever?
