Arum has been protecting Jr from Sergio and will continue to do so. I just hope Cotto doesn't help him out agree to fight Jr. Even though I think Cotto can beat him, I just think he is too small for the Middleweight division.

who doesn't fight for money, tell me that? so because he wants to fight the best/biggest names (that bring in the most money) he is at fault? his promoter's job is to make the biggest fights or fights for the best money available. if all the contenders at MW (macklin, barker, n'jikam, golovkin, lee, quillin, and proksa) don't stick out more than the rest (resume and name recognition) and possibly bring in the same amount of money on networks like showtime or hbo, then there really isn't much else team martinez can do. no one really wants to fight him at 154 and he's already a bit too small/older to be moving up to 168.

3 out of those 4 guys don't want to fight him. the other one networks aren't interested in. would cotto/chavez jr or any other fighter at the top or trying to reach the top go out of their way to fight this pirog if it wasn't their only option? i don't think so. even though that fight interests me, pirog needs more time to face top names/get known and have him and martinez be a big showdown. for now, that isn't what it is. martinez facing pirog wouldn't change a thing in his career. so if isn't a known named champ around his weight class that he isn't fighting, does he have to fight undefeated europeans to keep himself considered legit or prove himself legit? i'm sure if he faced one of these guys in europe he wouldn't get any serious credit for it. maybe just by SOME diehard boxing fans, but overall i don't think so. barker was a waste of time, but macklin is a decent name for now. he's having these considerable subpar matches because the top guys don't want to fight him (be it money or whatever).

Pirog is just a name Martinez haters like to throw around.

Lou Dibella has tried hard to get Pirog to come to the US and fight on HBO. DiBella offered Ishe Smith, (not great but people know him from the contender). Smith said he's even go to Russia.

Pirog's excuse "the WBO won't approve him" so he fought Javier Maciel instead.

Peter Manfredo was offered on the Martinez Barker undercard and Priog said no.

he doesn't want to leave Russia, but he can't look like a punk so he calls out Martinez knowing Martinez will never go there and vice versa. it just keeps his name in the news because we all know his fights don't.


Golovkin has his own problems, his mandatory Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam wants to fight him in April. maybe Golovkin should deal with that first. Golovkin hasn't even called Martinez out he's look toward Sturm.

Geale was offered a fight but his promoter said he was 2-3 fights away from being ready for Martinez.

in Cotto's defense Martinez could have fought Cotto instead Dzinziruk, it's the fight HBO wanted and Arum even had a deal worked out. DiBella didn't like it, Arum wanted to buy the promotion for 2 million, DiBella wanted 5 and that killed the talks.

Cotto would have and that's more then a lot of guys.

this division sucks MW champs are mostly scared young prospects who don´t want to fight in neutral ground (USA). So they never would be known by a larger global audience so less money they bring to the table. Martinez is avoided by all of them (asking to fight in Russia a P4P fighter is a way of avoiding him) so, he should move to JMW or a catchweight, Ortiz said he would fight Sergio, i don´t see much future here. He will end up fighting Lee or Quillin for pennies.

Martinez reminds me of Lara, no1 wants to see them in the ring...Jr doesn't want a piece of Maravilla, no doubt about that.... Cotto, he will destroy Chavez... the level of competition Cotto has fought Jr hasnt even scratched the surface... Such a joke.. If anyone deserves to fight Cotto is Maravilla.. Great fight... Agree with all except him losing to PBF. Sergio is too big, and would KO him along with anyone else at 147 who thinks they could win at 160.
