Alvarado deserves the shot at Marquez, he put on a great show last time out against Prescott. That was one hell of a fight.. he'll probably lose the fight but at least he can look back and say that he fought the legendary Marquez!

why do people always make the Katsidis reference? Alvarado doesn't fight like Katsidis and other than 1 shot he did nothing.

I can't see Alvarado beating JMM. Alvardo has a tough time fighting inside, he needs space to throw his big shots. JMM would press him inside. No doubt that it has potential to be a good fight if it is indeed signed, but I still can't see why it would be made. No 140lb belt up for grabs, unless they're getting one of the sanctioning bodies to make it for a vacant belt.

I wouldn't assume JMM would have a non-Pacquiao fight lined up because he is a part of Arum's 'four front runners'. If the Mayweather fight doesn't occur in May (which is likely), Pacquiao v. JMM IV makes most monetary sense, although it is potentially risky (as Marquez would be close to even odds to be victor). I think Arum acknowledges this risk and will match Pacquaio with Cotto, even though it won't make as much as Marquez IV.

I would personally love Marquez/Pac IV if Mayweather doesn't happen.

And I don't see Mike actually "forcing" Marquez to get into a shooting. Let's not forget that Alvarado was being outboxed by the "amazing" Breidis Prescott... I just don't see how he's going to be able to do anything against Marquez, who's technically a lot better than Prescott and has a significantly higher IQ than him.

JMM get's hit tho bro,let's not forget he was getting tag by Diaz and Kat's..Neither have high ring I.Q.'s but both were able to get to JMM..I think Alvarado will be stronger then both of those fighters and will be able to take a better shot..Not to mention he seems to hit a lot harder as well..
