atlas is right with everything except for the pot shot thing. mayweather takes it to the lefty's with the straight right. we saw that against judah,mitchel,corley,and ortiz.pac is a one dimensional,no defense,no jab southpaw with speed.which is why he can't beat marquez and mayweather will destroy him.

But why should they even be taking about a guarantee? It's just a smoke screen!

I haven't done a boxing show in years, but I have recently promoted some music concerts (and they work pretty much the same).

As the promoter, I put the event on, sell the tickets and pay the headliners (musician or boxer) from the proceeds. I pay the headliners either a guaranteed amount or a percentage of the gate. I have to make money, too, so I can't give away %100 of the gate or any close to it.

But remember, I also have to pay all the other expenses (hotel rooms, meeting rooms and the salaries of everybody else involved such as ushers, security and "sound and light" people). Also, the cable company takes a percentage for broadcasting the event.

If Arum is the promoter, he can give Floyd a guarantee, but then Floyd would only get that guaranteed money; he wouldn't get a share of the proceeds.

But if there is a 50-50 split, Arum would get nothing from Floyd's end. He could get money from Pac's end because he is Pac's promoter. However, Arum could always sign a one-fight promotional contract with Floyd, guarantee Floyd a 50-50 split, but with the proviso that Arum would get back all "promotional costs" and a percentage of Floyd's 50 percent (say 5%.) Thus, Floyd, like Manny, would get about 45% of total revenues, less expenses.

I knew Atlas was dumb but damn!!!! Why would Arum have to guarantee Floyd's money when he is not his promoter and not under contract with him??????? Duhh, that would be Golden Boy's and Mayweather's Promotions job to do that..... Dumb A$$ Atlas, does he know how boxing works??? No promotor guarantee on the face of the earth will guarentee a dime to a fighter who is not under contract with them for more than a mil. If that's the case why doesn't Atlas blame Golden Boy or Mayweather Promotions for not guaranting the $120 mil???? Dumb A$$e$ shouldn't be given mics but then again he is on FNF the minors of boxing broadcasting I mean he is not even on HBO or Showtime, not even ShoBox LOL....

Because Mayweather wants his end guaranteed by someone. GB will NOT guarantee his end and they NEVER guarantee the money on his fights. He pays them a small fee, around 2 mill, to be a co-promoter. Mayweather guarantees his own money and the money of the opponent, but nobody really knows how much he makes per show.

That's the difference, and the advantage, of Pacquiao having Arum. Whether the pay-per-view fails or does well, Manny gets his money guaranteed no matter what. If Mayweather's pay-per-view fails, he could go broke, like Jones Jr. did with the Hopkins rematch, where GB only guaranteed Hopkins' end of the deal.

That's why Arum says, I will guarantee Pacquiao's end of the deal, but I won't guarantee both fighters. If he guarantees each guy 40-50 million, the pay-per-view would have to sell at least 2 million buys or more to make a profit. There is no guarantee it sells 2 million because of Internet piracy and HBO also takes their cut.

Arum has seemed to be the One Holding up the Fight lately, But putting an exact Date on the Fight, and also Determining where the Fight will be held is not Helping Mayweathers Case. Atlas should of mentioned that Little Floyd may have to Compromise his May 5th date to later in the Month to make the Fight Happen. I also ask why Mayweather would Choose May 5th of all dates, a Known Mexican Holiday, as the Day to Face PacMan??? Sends a mixed message of exactly who Mayweather wants to Fight. Teddy should of just said that Both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather need to quit acting like Women and Fight Already.

i didnt say on Pacquiao...its throughout the years..... He does like picking the underdog...which in this case being Floyd lol...as for him knowing more about the sport...he forgotten more than i know and is IMO an incredible person. i have several pictures with the man and talked to him one on one several time.... I like teddy a lot. BUT he has been wrong ALOT. And if you were to ask him...hed tell you. They use to make fun of him on FNF when Max Kellerman was on there.

There's not a chance in hell Mayweather would be an underdog to Manny. He'll be a 2/1 favorite, most likely.
