He has no inside game and needs to up his activity too, he's a capable fighter though but even Cotto right now, who isn't in his prime, would beat Lara in my opinion. Maybe Lara gets exposed, maybe he doesn't, I honestly don't think 154 is as strong as it's made out to be.
With only 15 fights as a pro or whatever, he needs a couple of more fights to show he's legit. Even now with his 15 fights, I see him easily handing Cotto, Kirkland, Angulo, Williams again, all losses.

Hell, the best fight from 154 to 160 not including Floyd, imo is Martinez vs Lara.

You would support a rematch with Ortiz? Alright, i sure as hell wouldn't.

No you don't need to explain as I'm sure i already know. You feel Cotto is shot while Canelo (obviously) is not.
If you feel so, fine. I don't think Cotto is close to prime anymore but i think he puts up a better fight than Canelo at this point.

If Canelo beats someone like the winner of Kirkland-Molina. Lets say Kirkland, then I would consider Canelo a legit fight for Floyd.

If Cotto beats the winner of JCC Jr-Rubio in June, lets say JCC Jr. Then I would consider it a legit match up for Floyd.

You're right that Floyd won't have the courage to fight Martinez and Pac doesn't have the courage to fight Floyd.

But, I just don't understand how some can say that a fighter has proven themselves or deserves something by beating shot to pieces fighters and journeymen. That makes no sense to me.
Yeah this i agree with and it's the reason why i feel Cotto is the best of the attainable fights for floyd.
Canelo is just in no way proven enough to be even considered elite. Who knows if he can even hang with the best guys at 154 let alone the arguably #1 p4p.

I get how people don't want to shelf out $60 for it though. I guess I'm lucky that my country don't use the PPV-model so it's basically free either way.
But if it's between Canelo, Guerrero (lol) or Cotto I'd rather pay for the Cotto fight than the rest.

Same with Pac. I'd rather pay for Bradley than Peterson or Marquez even though I'm not convinced Bradley will put up a fight.

People arguing "Cotto is back better than ever" etc are obviously extremely biased or ******ed. I think Cotto showed some good things in his last three fights, but he the quality of opponent was not close to top notch.

I think Paul Williams is done on the elite level, if Martinez didn't beat it out of him then Lara certainly did, so I would expect Lara to win again. Kirkland's lack of defense, can't see anything other than Lara stopping him, Angulo was never good to begin with, I never knocked Angulo for losing to Cintron, Cintron's boxing skills, when he's not going through those mental lapses is actually very good, although he's done now. Against Joel Julio, that's where he looked every bit decent and I never saw why anybody would have picked him to beat Cotto. Cotto still has it in him to beat all these guys, more of a testament to how average I think 154 is.
