Sure Bute's got an alphabet belt, but he really needs a credible opponent. Hearn should be aware that Interbox has little options aside from Froch: They cannot get Ward and Mikkel Kessler has a fight coming up. That leaves Froch as the ONLY credible opponent.

Will Interbox risk letting Bute face another clubfighter? I think not. They'll catch hell and Bute would be the laughingstock of boxing.

So go hard for the first fight to be in Nottingham. Froch certainly has deserved it.
I rarely agree with you but that was an excellent post.

Team Froch should realize that Carl has more bargaining power than they think. If they wanted to they could insist that the first fight be in England; should Bute turn them down it will look very bad for him. Especially if he goes on to fight another easy match instead.

      Thank you.

One can only hope that Froch gets paid handsomely to travel to Canada. He has little chance of winning there and should he lose comprehensively his options will be diminished quite a bit and given his age it's hard for him to turn on a comeback to the big fights. I got a nasty feeling that Hearn, perhaps unaware, are cashing out on Froch.

I thought the deal was Bute keeps all the Canadian money and Froch keeps all the U.K money.

I read that too. But what about the gate, the world rights and the showtime money?

Anyway I'd like to see the numbers for both fighters.

dunno about the gate, but i thought i read they are splitting the US money 50-50. Not sure about the rest of the world.

Froch should just thank his stars that he is getting another shot at a title.

I reckon this is a great move by both fighters, should be two very competitive and entertaining fights.
