Bob Arum tells SI from Philippines that if @FloydMayweather accepts a 50-50 split and can guarantee his half, Pacquiao can fight in late May. Arum says Mayweather is "Plan A" for Pacquiao. Says he doesn't like the idea of doing the fight at the MGM Grand but will do it. Arum says he is guaranteeing Pacquiao's half, if someone guarantees Floyd's the fight "can be made in ten minutes." Arum says if the framework of a deal with Mayweather isn't in place by Saturday, Pacquiao will pick from the Cotto/Bradley/JMM/Peterson list.

May 5th is the date. I don't understand why they don't just go with that.
And if Cotto is in the mix for Pacquaio, where does that leave him with the possible Mayweather fight?Comment

may 5 was no good because they needed a stadium built. now mgm is good but still late may? anyway, it's promising news. arum is bending...Comment

yea this basically nulls all the excuses Bob has made.
Pac couldn't fight on may fifth because of:
1- The cut needing 5 months to heal.
2- Building a stadium.
1- was cleared up by pac stating the cut is not an issue (duh).
2- is now cleared as it seems Arum is fine with it being at MGM, just not on may fifth (for whatever reason).
