    0 redeeming qualities. 0 power. 0 X factors. 0 personality. 0 charm.

He's more boring than Bernard and Bernard finished fights when he was Ward's age.
I said "boxing star." I made sure to choose my words carefully.

And how does he have zero redeeming qualities or charm? Being a family man and positive role model isn't a redeeming quality?

unfortunately it seems like that's the mindset of many of the fans, thinking that ward's virtues arent something that can be marketed or that people will want to follow

andre ward could be a star if he was marketed correctly. a bonafide mainstream star. he's got to become a great boxer first, and i do think he's on the cusp of that.

floyd's style has never been endearing to the public
over years he cultivated a persona through that sold his tickets

perhaps ward's intentions will be different, but it's certainly possible that he can build himself into something in which the public will be interested

      the first step is winning
the most impressive aspect of floyd mayweather to the layperson outside of boxing is his record
people put a boatload of stock in that.

always like your articles, brother. keep up the good work

only way the general public will be interested in andre ward is if/when he puts together some exciting fights that result in some highlight reel ko's or hell i'd even settle for some tko's....even the best marketing strategest he could possibly get would tell him that he needs to put a**es in the seats by putting some tough fighters on their backs....no better marketing tool than that
