The whole " just fire off a contract " thing..... is absurd.
That is not how things happen, boxing does not work like that.
Which is why Bob Arum's infamous "second" negotiations, were an absurd joke. He fired off a ridiculous proposal that had already been rejected, with no offer of negotiation, and then immediately slapped a 2-week deadline on it.
Absurd.
Not only is that NOT how the only official negotiation played out, I have never actually heard of a major fight being made that way. I would almost guarantee that has never happened, EVER.
