Well, it's a pretty common thing before a fight, especially if one fighter is regarded as clearly superior to the other.

Rigondeaux is taking this fight too lightly in my opinion. He shouldn't do that, doesn't matter who it is you're facing, or how "superior" you are. Any boxer is a threat, anything can happen in boxing.

I agree that everyone should be regarded as a threat. In think Rigo agrees with you, also. I don't think Guillermo is taking Ramos lightly. Some of this stuff is just psychological warfare BS, trying to make Rico feel insignificant.

This is also true. I just hope it doesn't come back to bite him.

Lets understand 1 thing. Rigo was a superstar amateur, but Ramos is the more experienced & younger pro. Rigo is not clearly superior as a pro, anyone thinking that is counting eggs before they hatch, period.

There was a recent interview with Ramos posted here on NSB. Rico comes across as a pretty decent guy. He was very open and honest. Ramos spoke of how nervous he was during the Shimoda fight. It was his first big match and he was keenly aware of the media coverage. Rico said he was so caught up that he wasn't listening to his corner and cites that as the reason he was losing the fight.

It's this very thing that is being targeted by your opponent when they make the remarks they do.

Actually, I think Rigo is a clearly superior boxer. High profile trainers like Freddie Roach don't take on protégés just coming off an amateur career if they don't think they're pretty amazing. And it's obvious by their records that Rico is more experienced as a pro.
