This is a great matchup. I'd be curious to see how the betting on this goes.

Excellent match-up. I'm surprised that Froch doesnt get homefield for the first fight though. He certainly deserved it.

Nice, this is good news. Time to see if Bute is for real. Froch is the man, he wants to fight everyone. I got the Cobra by late TKO.
I don't like the automatic rematch though. If the winner beats the loser in the first fight in a way that makes a rematch pointless, who will care about that rematch? What would be the point?

If Matchroom promotions lets Froch go to Canada after his last bunch of fights on the road, they really need their head tested.
Yes he can make a lot of money fighting Bute in Canada, but he deserves to be fighting at home first. Bute might be the champion, but he's a punk until he proves otherwise with his level of competition. I think he could KO Froch in Canada and if that happens, Matchroom should question what they have just set up.
I don't like the outcome of this for Froch in Canada. He's could quickly turn into another Glen Johnson and be a gate keeper if he's not careful.

man oh man.
carl froch fights them all. in this case twice.
pascal, taylor, dirrell, kessler, abraham, johnson, ward, bute,
all in a row. all former world champions
taylor, pascal, johnson, and now ward are all LINEAL champions
that run is sublime. nobody boxing today comes close to that.
the garanteed rematch clause bothers me. the timing of the fight does not.
i'll let carl froch do whatever the hell he likes at this stage.
he's not going to just get his doors blown off by bute's power.
he'll have trouble with the speed when he tries to box with bute and he'll probably lose lopsided decision, but he's not going to just get blown away.
why should bute get a run at the winner of the super six?
ward needs a break. maybe a soft touch in oakland.
he's coming off a hand injury and a serious run of top flight fighters himself. there's certainly a reason you dont see guys regularly making runs like ward and froch. they take their toll, especially at the higher weight classes.
