Possibly. This is a HUGE fight for both guys, but IMO, I think it may be a tad bit bigger for Berto since he was undefeated and was supposed to be the next best thing. With Ortiz, we've seen him at his lowest and we understand that he could lose it in there from a mental standpoint.

IMO, this fight is bigger for Berto.

This is ****** and only happens because of the Internetz.

You could have said Shane Mosley's career was over after he lost 2 in a row to Vernon and then 2 in a row to Winky. But Mosley went on to have some of the biggest and most lucrative fights of his career, which solidified his HOF status.

Fighters throughout history would lose all the time. No big deal.

Some bandwagon jumping is part of being a fan. But the way the Internetz is where you're the greatest thing ever if you win and complete and utter **** if you lose is ******ED.

No they're both young guys who will get other chances if they lose. Ortiz will be in the mix for Khan and Berto will be too.

IMO it doesn't make or break either but it would be a massive set back and the chances of being a top fighter and make serious money is diminished

according to some here, it will be. of course, not everyone can go on undefeated, fighters lose, but at least they're good enough and young enough to be around for a while.

                I see Ortiz winning

maybe Berto will ultimately become a gatekeeper

Nah i think both guys are still young enough to keep on fighting. Either guy can be a potential match up for Khan, Bradley, Maidana (rematch for Ortiz if he loses?). Hell, I think Rios vs Ortiz in a year or so can be possible and they can make one hell of a story out of that.
