IT is going to be the biggest challenge Jr. has faced in his carreer. Win or lose he will still have a fan base but he needs to be impressive in it. If the referee steps in and stops the fight early then he will probably lose a lot of fans (but still maintain a lot).

But, Marco Antonio Rubio presents a threat to Chavez Jr. He hasn't lost in over a few years, is still a pretty good fighter, and is coming off a pretty solid win over Lemieux. Rubio has more than a punchers shot at beating Julio, he has a pretty good shot. Lets not forget that Zbik took Chavez Jr to the cards and nearly won a tight decision over him.

Yes, Julio should fight Sergio, but Rubio is a legitimate defense.
I have to agree with you bro...

Yea it is pretty legit, kind of sad when talking the 160 pound divisions current state but Rubio should provide a nice stiff test for JCC Jr., if JCC Jr. is to win he will certainly have proven himself to be fairly worthwhile.

I really like this fight card on HBO Feb. 4. I honestly think Rubio will knock Chavez Jr. out and I think Donaire is going to knock Vazquez Jr. out.

I like the fight and I'm going to go to it. It's a good fight, a nice step up for JCC Jr. I wouldn't be surprise either if Rubio beats him. But, I favor JCC Jr in that fight. I think if JCC Jr wins and depending on how he wins it will make him a true legit contender.

                  Agree.

While the Middleweight division is down from what is use to be, there's still some talent in there and decent fights to be made.

                  Sergio Martinez
                  Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
                  Dmitry Pirog

                  Andy Lee

Its a solid fight but Rubio is still a long shot to get the W. The matchmakers know exactly what they are doing.

it's jr's first real fight, i wonder how much rubio will be compromised leading up to this fight as well as how he will be treated during and after.

i believe that if this fight is honest and on the up and up, jr gets beaten by rubio..... with that being said ,jr will probably be helped into eeking out a controversial win......

too much current and potential money on jr to be had to let him lose to rubio.... but like i said, in an honest straight up fight, jr loses to rubio 7 out of 10 times....... 3 by ko.
