Maybe in 07/08, maybe. Not now...
I did say "possibly" causes him problems.

Cotto is not prime but his jab is still very effective. Floyd will certainly be looking out for it early on.

Just another good win on top of his pile of good wins, Cotto isn't really that different people just can't deny he is flawed.

Cotto is still Cotto, and Cotto was never really a threat to Floyd if one understands that. It will be proven out if they fight.

It's not ridiculous at all. You act like that hasn't happen but whatever. And, it wouldn't even be Floyd paying the step aside money either. Macklin is promoted by Dibella he would easily work something out. If Floyd really wanted to fight Martinez that is.

But, like I said fan bases like whatever their fighters does so it is what it is.

It's better than the Alvarez fight. But, still whack. Shouldn't have postpone the jail sentence. Should have just went to jail and probably would have had better options later in the fall.

Here's my take on it, does Manny Pacquiao get credit for beating Ricky Hatton in 2009, when Floyd beat him in 2007????? Yes he does. Floyd gets credit for beating Cotto at 154 lbs, but Manny still gets more for beating him first.

Cotto is past his prime-still good, same as he's been since losing to Margarito in 08'.

Cotto at 154 is legit, same goes for Manny. If it was at 147-150, it's a C fight. But, if it's at 154, it's a B+ fight.

Floyd gets his due for beating Cotto and a lot of people don't remember that Floyd was calling Cotto out in 2006. It was only after Floyd announced he was retiring after Hatton that Top Rank and Cotto started to say Floyd was ducking.

Floyd beats him by UD though. Miguel Cotto is past his prime-still good, and it'd be a good win because it's at 154. I look at it the same way I do with Ricky Hatton, only vice versa. Floyd got more credit for Hatton because he did first, but Manny still gets his due for that win. Manny gets more credit for Cotto because he did it first, but Floyd still gets his due.

If Manny isn't ready to fight in May, even though the reason is total BS, than Floyd should fight Cotto or Martinez at 154 lbs. I would accpet Alvarez, but not like it. Alvarez is good, but he hasn't earned a Mayweather fight.

Cotto won't have answers when Floyd outjabs him.

Floyd's jab to the body, flicker jab, etc is better than Cotto's jab. Mayweather has much more variety to his jab

No one is underrating anything. You're just going off by reputation more than anything. Cotto hasn't proven anything recently. I'm sorry beating shot to pieces fighters like Mayorga and Margarito means nothing when matching him up against elite level fighters. But, whatever if you like the fight fine.

If it was HBO I could live with it. Knowing that they going to charge is 60 bucks makes it whack. But, whatever I don't care I won't pay for it. You will it just a matter of preference that's all.

I'll give him about 25% worth of credit considering Cotto is a shot fighter. The fight won't happen for obvious reasons but Mayweather should've fought Cotto when he was prime.

Now the fight reeks of opportunism on behalf of both parties just cashing in on their names.

Mayweather probably wins a close decision but its possible Cotto stops him inside 12.
