I hope it's not, cuz Guerrero has done nothing to earn a fight with Floyd, absolutely nothing. Don't get me wrong, I think Guerrero is a very good southpaw with potential, but his best wins are against faded Katsidis and a very faded Casamayor. Also, he's never even fought at 147. There are way too many holes in this match-up for Floyd to even contemplate fighting Guerrero. I HOPE that Floyd fights Martinez, assuming he beats Macklin in convincing fashion. Sergio would only have 2 months to prepare for Floyd, but i'm sure his motivation would be through the roof. I don't wanna see Alvarez, whose resume isn't much better than Guerrero's. BUT, i think Alvarez is at the head of the line, with Martinez being 2nd, and Cotto/Guerrero being a distant third option.
If Mayweather announces a Guerrero bout next week...

I wont be nearly as upset as others. I think everyone looks at fights as one time things but I look at the big picture. I dont look at it as him fighting the Ghost. I look at it as him wantinting to face a Southpaw because he wants Pac & Sergio next. If he fights the Ghost then its a gurantee he's fighting one of those 2 next and thats a good thing to me.
Ive made threads before saying that I think his team & dad would feel much more comfortable if he had more rounds in him. They want 1 more fight before a figh with Pac & Sergio because they are worried about Floyd's inactivity. If he has one more fight then they would have no worries.
The problem is that they would rather it be against a Southpaw to prepare for them but the only big fights available for Floyd is with righties so they have to make a decision wether to go for a big fight like Cotto & Alverez who will sell more & be huge or go for a guy like the Ghost or Ortiz rematch who might better prepare you for the Southpaw style of Pac & Sergio.
Not only that but the righties are all bigger. I dont think Floyd has a huge problem with going to 154 but he doesnt want to go to 154 if he's gotta come back to WW which we all know he does. I think his team is also worried about that and thats why you may get a catchweight if he picks a righty. Not because he's scared to fight at 54 but he's worried about going to 54 and then coming back to 47 in the very next match to fight Pac. May screw up his body some.
He's just in a bad catch 22 situation. If the Ortiz fight had went longer then I dont think they would be worried and would fight Sergio or Pac right now if available but it only went 4 and they want more rounds in Floyd. Just 1 more fight before he see's them and the Ghost being a good skilled Southpaw intrigues them. Probably will be Cotto or Saul at 50-54 thoughComment

I'd rather see Floyd fight somebody who is established around 147-156.
To be honest, ideally it will be Cotto. That fight is like the modern day Lewis-Tyson, ie. should have happened years ago when they were both in their prime, but will do just as well, if not better, in $ now. It would be interesting to see Cotto sustain his first clean loss (assuming he would lose).
Guerrero is by no means a terrible option, he just needs to establish himself more in my opinion. He should chase Khan, Alexander, Mosely, someone like that.Comment

So if its Cotto then Floyd is fighting Pac's leftover ... Personally I dont have a problem with it..One or 2 loses doesnt make a fighter suddenly shot especially if its coming from defeat against a top level fighter..
I just find funny, how you *****s jumped on the Cotto bandwagon so quickly considering the bull**** that you have posted about fighting fighters who have been previously defeated.. And in Cotto's case beaten to a pulp by Pac himself..Comment

Don't care!!!!!! Would not watch, especially if it was a PPV! Why not Cotto! Why would he take that fight leading into a possible Pacquiao fight? That fight wouldcdo terrible numbers! No one outside of Floyd fans would buy that as a PPV! It would be a waste of $60Comment

I mean a Cotto fight isn't as relevant as it was before he conveniently retired, but it's better than Guererro!Comment
