I am not nor was I ever a Hopkins fans. But even at 46 or 47 and most likely even a 50 years old Bhop would easily embarrass Nathan.

as a fellow englishman, im going to have to have to request that you cease all hostilities with these yanks.
this argument is not a winner, in part anyway.
the american fighters you picked as favourites are all s.h.i.t accept ward.
however, khan is s.h.i.t and our ricky was passed his prime at the time of the floyd fight but, if the yanks are lookin at this then go to youtube and see what a good account he gave of himself against floyd.
pretty good for a "brit" on the end of his career wasnt it.
we, and they all known that the great bernard hopkins would be too good for cleverly at this stage and may never be regarded as such a great but, never forget that hopkins is a known chicken, cheat, deliberate butter, holder and will always look to steal a fight if he cant find a way to win or a way out.
this has tarnished hall of fame status in my view but, you can tell the yanks that because they think they are the center of the world on everything.
that other fellah who made the sarcastic comment about cleverly making 20 defenses before 2022 etc.....hes a bell end.
obviously refering the the great joe calzaghe who, when he beat the also great chris eubank approached both jones junior, hopkins, toney for a fight who even then in thier prime didnt want it.
      chickens.(but we already known that).
and since then undefeated joe calzaghe has beaten both jones and hopkins from the floor.
with the exception of andre ward who is extremely talented, over the last 15 to 20 years all of the american "gifted" have been beaten by english fighters(most by ko) even in their own back yard.
i have prepared a list of their talent for them to suck up and make excuses for and here it is.
kevin kelly, tom johnson, vince philips, rjj, bhop, mcclelland, dougdewitt, barkley, jer main taylor, jeff lacy, augie sanchez, junior jones, to name but a few and they have only beaten british fighters who are on the end of their careers only through fear of losing any earlier bouts, ricky hatton, junior witter are the only names at world level i can remeber being beaten by americans and the other fighter who is current would only be carl froch but, we already know that andre ward is extremely gifted.
so, lets give them the chance(after all this time) to rally behind their man because other than the great fmj, hes all they have.
now if you dont mind...........im goin for a poo.

Calzaghe please shut up! Im so happy this guy retired, his boxing style was crap. Yes he was good but he had a ****ty boxing style. Cleverly is an wannabe Calzaghe so hes even worse. And of course Calzaghe is backing him because hes trying to be like him and is brit.

Joe's just talking up his mate, he knows Cleverly's nowhere near ready for B-Hop hence him saying he's a young champ with plenty to learn.

He's right about Cleverly having little chance of getting the fight - he has zero profile in the states and growing but still very small in the UK.

To get a Hopkins fight Cleverly needs profile building fights such as Shumenov in Vegas after karpancey.

Tobi G - clearly doesn't get irony. Arthur Abraham as your favourite fighter and you say Joe had a crap fighting style...

He's right. Cleverly's pace would be too much for the old poppa.
