    2nd problem. money.......

this will be floyds LOWEST PPV in years because martinez is so unknown.

people must think with better logic when asking about martinez.
Weight shouldn't be an issue because Canelo (guaranteed to be Floyd's opponenent) is bigger than Martinez weight wise and Martinez only came in 1 pound heavier than Ortiz in his last fight. The only issue should be money.

it's going to be canelo or cotto. . . cotto might very well remain a free agent, or sign a one fight co-promotional deal with golden boy for this fight. . . then he will sign a final 3 fight deal with arum to close out his career. . .

people are also saying that this is a legacy fight.........in realty it's not. martinez is only good for the MOMENT. his last fight proved that. he'll fizzle out quickly & won't be remembered. cotto will be more remembered vs martinez because cotto is a better fighter & much more consistent......cottos only problems is that he can't get over the hump against the mega fights like pac.

if martinez had even a 10th of the name that cotto has MAYWEATHER WOULD FIGHT HIM (if he could somehow drain himself down to 154)

mayweather is looking for good opponents, but he's also looking to fill up his pockets while fighting a good opponent.

Keep in mind though, Floyd has only 1 fight at 154 and that was close to 5 years ago, and Floyd was just 150lbs against an older, much less active Oscar De La Hoya, who didn't see his best days at 154-160. If Floyd doesn't HAVE TO go up in weight to fight, he won't. Cotto's the only guy I see him fighting due to money, name, his age, and size comparison.

Yea I agree. It's one thing if Martinez had someone like Hagler or Hopkins' aura at Middleweight, but that's obviously not the case in the sense where the risk of Floyd fighting a Middleweight would be worth it.

weight is a problem.........because in realty martinez can't make 154......

when he fought willams in that rematch he had to lose 16 17 pounds just to make a 158 catchweight........

the guy will be DRY & a zombie @ 154.

i can't believe no one can see this.................

Paul Williams was two fights ago. It's complete irrelevant now. He was 165 pounds against Barker on fight night. That's just 1 pound more than what he came in at when he fought at jr middleweight. He can easily make 154.

Martinez could make 154. He only weighed in at 159 against Barker and like 164-165 on fight night. He's pretty much the same size as Ortiz.

But, I don't see Floyd or Manny fighting Sergio, though I wish they would.
