ive never understood this idea that Floyd should fight Martinez...

Martinez has never gone into a fight at less than 146 3/4lb while Floyd has fought as low as 128 1/2!...

Personally there is no reason that Floyd should be expected to continue to climb weight...

Dumb logic. Pacquiao has fought as low as flyweight, Cotto nor Margarito have ever fought that low yet they bought fought and lost to Pacquiao.

But can Martinez even make 154 healthy anymore? He even stated for a Cotto fight he couldn't make anything less than 156-157, and this was about 6-7 months ago. Floyd barely comes in fight night at 151 with Martinez being a full fledged Middleweight and then some fight night (and doesn't have 1 foot in the door of retirement). There's no huge gain for Floyd if he beats Sergio because Sergio, though is the top Middleweight today, isn't worth the risk and isn't an overall big name for Floyd to give up some of his advantages let alone it not being his biggest payday.

This is exactly my point. Being fan of Mayweather, you'd think by now his fans would know how he operates. He's got nothing to gain and too much to risk for too little.

i would say the EXACT same thing if the proposed fight was Pac v Martinez...there is no reason for it to happen...neither Floyd nor Manny should be expected to compete with top MIDDLEWEIGHTS!!

Floyd wins = Martinez is drained, Floyd took advantage

Martinez wins = Floyd too small, Martinez took advantage
