goddammit! in the worst era for the HW division, the last thing we need is another joke of a paper champion setting up another ****ing useless and disgusting fight.

Hasim Rahman to face Oleg Maskaev?
      By G. Leon

November 16, 2005 - Word has reached **********.com that WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, who may be a promotional free agent as this goes to print, is looking to face Oleg Maskaev instead of James "Lights-Out" Toney as promoter Don King was planning. **********.com also understands that Top Rank Inc. has already made Rahman an offer for the Maskaev fight. Rahman and Bob Arum were both unavailable for immediate comment, but we will continue to keep you updated...

I think this is just a rumor for now..

If I were Rahman i would pick Maskaev, he could use a tune up plus get some revenge for that KO

That would be the smart move for him..
Escpecially Maskaev just came of a big win.. and the fact that he KRahmanTFO would be a marketable fight.

What has Toney done at HW to get another title shot?

Right after suggesting Maskiev fight for Rahman's title (not sure what's funnier, suggesting Maskiev deserves a title shot or not realizing the irony in the fact Rahman was in line for a title this year),

you suggest Toney doesn't deserve to fight for another title?

No one around at the moment of the top 5 or 6 rated fighters 'deserves' a title shot.

At this point, the only thing that's relevent is who the fans want to see.

When you add that to the fact that Rahman would stand to gain much more money fighting Toney than Maskiev, it's a curious move considering he's bankrupt and stands a good chance of losing to whoever it is he fights next.

something neither Klitschko, Ruiz, Byrd, Valuev, Rahman, Maskaev, Peter, or Tua has been able to do

COMPLETELY DOMINATE EVERY OPPONENT YOU FACE

You mean dominate in the HW divsion? But who has he dominated? Look, you know how it is in boxing. Lots of fighters get shots at titles that they dont seem to deserve. The list is too long to go over. Frankly I dont think either of them have done a whole lot.

1 - Maskaev (not Maskiev) is rated as a #1 contender by the WBC, Toney is what, #5?

2 - Maskaev was the one who knocked Rahman the **** out of the ring

3 - Who has Toney beat at HW?
Holyfield, who is 2-5-2 in the last 5 years of his career? (Mind you Toney fought him second to last)
Booker? Who has he ever beat?
or Guinn, who is 1-3-1 in his last fights?

And do I even need to mention the fact that he got caught CHEATING only 7 month ago?

                  Just stop being a hypocrite

If any of the heavies get away from King, I doubt we will have the tourney...the one good thing about having King around and controlling all the belts is that a tourney could become a reality...With varied promoters the negotiations to get a tourney together would be near to impossible, especially if some of the fighters are still with King
