Martinez and DiBella do the EXACT SAME THING as Arum and Chavez Jr. do! Martinez wants to mooch off Chavez Jr.'s name and drawing power to make money. . . Chavez Jr. is obviously not on the same level as Martinez, and it would be a one-sided fight in most people's eyes. . . WAIT! HOLD ON! It's ok for Martinez to want the easiest fight with thte highest reward possible, but when Chavez does it, he's a coward?

Martinez wants to cherry pick and mooch off the drawing power of other boxers. . . You don't see him eager to take on the fights that would be a tough challenge? Or god forbid he actually give up some weight at the scales! He's just like Arum! He wants to take fights that are profitable and low risk if possible. . .

Martinez already gives up weight at 160. When's the last time Martinez was the bigger guy in a fight? Everybody looks significantly bigger than him at 160. Remember, Martinez has fought at 147, and is naturally a 154 pounder, and not even a BIG 154, either. Like it or not, Martinez HAS fought some good names in Pavlik and P Will and some good contenders at 160 because he couldn't get a fight at 154. Chavez is considerably bigger than Martinez to top it off. Andre Ward, Froch, etc are big supers. Martinez ONLY calls out Chavez Jr because Jr has the gall to call himself the champion, but that belt literally belonged to Martinez. Anyway, if Rubio beats Chavez, he'd definitely try to make his next fight against Martinez (if no rematch with Jr is made). Martinez allegedly (literally) can't make 168 without sacrificing his most important attributes. For effs sake, wasn't he allegedly walking around in the high 150s? Chavez Jr isn't exactly a huge name with so much drawing power, either. He's known, but for the wrong reasons.

That's just ******. Chavez Jr has a belt and they are in the same division .But it's "cherry picking" for Martinez to want to fight him? Please. And Chavez Jr only has a "name" because of his father. Comparing Martinez opponents to Chavez Jrs is just laughable.

And don't pretend that Chavez Jr is some huge PPV draw.

what some people are forgetting is Martinez is Chavez's mandatory.

I know the alphabet belts mean **** but Chavez refused to face Martinez and when he beats Rubio, he continue to duck Martinez.

Martinez didn't fight Zbik, his mandatory and they stripped him. Chavez does fight his mandatory, a match the WBC said had to take place before FEB 4. Martinez took it to purse bids and NOTHING happened.

wouldn't you be upset as a man if you were Martinez? getting constantly ****ed because they don't want Chavez to lose.

Chavez has one set or rules and real fighters like Martinez has another.

I don't even see how a Mexican could support this fraud. Mexican boxers are warriors who aren't afraid to lose. Chavez has none of the qualities of a Mexican boxer, just a name.

being a Martinez hater is one thing but I don't see how anybody could support this b1tch made coward Chavez

The VAST MAJORITY KNOW that MARTINEZ WOULD DESTROY CHAVEZ JNR, only someone with an incredibly limited understanding of boxing would think otherwise!

Whether Martinez wants Chavez name and fame or not, that was Martinez belt and in order to beat the champion you gotta beat the champion. Martinez never lost the belt inside the ring.

martinez should be interested in making the BEST FIGHTS. . . not the fights for these paper belts (what? 4 now in each division)? this is not an evenly matched fight. . . this would be a one-sided fight in martinez's favor. . .

martinez has definitely fought better opponents, but i wasn't really trying to compare their level of opposition, but rather, the fact that martinez refuses to make the best fights for the fans. . . not cherry pick a "belt holder" merely because he holds a belt. . .

Im not a Chavez Jr. fan but I side with him in his decision for Rubio, he's at least fighting the #1 contender. If Martinez really wanted to fight him, he shouldn't of booked a fight for himself. Jr cant stay inactive.

gotta focus on macklin, after that then start talking again. hope the macklin bout is exciting and ends in an impressive fashion for martinez. the barker fight ******.
chavez/rubio should be good as well, hope rubio wins but doubt it. as for this whole mess, both are at 160 and with chavez facing rubio, i think it'll be safe to say he'd be decent enough to have a martinez fight after that. he's ranked higher than pirog and has almost as twice as much professional fights as barker. if he loses, he lost to the best in the division and p4p no.3 fighter in the world. it's not like chavez will stay undefeated forever. might as well take on the biggest challenge around and prove you have the balls to fight anyone anytime, and if you come up short, learn from the experience. he has a decent chin and i doubt martinez lays him out like he did williams.
after that, it'd be nice to see sturm give his title up to golovkin or pirog and martinez can negotiate a fight with them, if the money is right for both sides.
