I wouldn't mind still seeing this fight. However, there are a couple things that will be interesting to see play out on here. How will the *******s be able to cope with Arum talking about how terrible a fighter Cotto is now? Basically Arum will begin degrading the best win on Pacquiao's resume in the last 4 years in an indirect way. As soon as Arum starts the pr machine grinding away against Cotto it will make Pacquiao's resume over the last several years look even worse than it already does.

The fight makes a lot of sense, from both sides. Really there are not a lot of acceptable guys Floyd can fight, Cotto has the cache to be a reasonable opponent even if his chances really aren't that great.

For Cotto if he is going to continue his career he is he needs to seek the biggest fight and Floyd is probably the biggest fish for him. As long as he is competitive he can move forward with his career.

I would think it would get people fairly hyped and it would be something different something a lot of people have wanted for a long time.

The only thing this fight brings is the hype and payday because Cotto is still a big name with a big boxing loving nation but in terms of the actual fight.. Cotto is done!

I remember when Floyd met Cotto in PR. Forget the two of them fighting, my hope is that their respective promotional companies work together in the future. Would be a great help to boxing.

Yeah I agree. On second thought I hope Cotto does fight an elite top fighter to end this myth that he beats everybody now.

It's amazing that people will get excited for an Ortiz vs Mayweather bout considering the outcome of 2 particular previous Ortiz's fights. Yet, Cotto, who hasn't lost since Pacquiao, and is very experienced in comparison, smarter fighter, all around better technique and skill, is a bum fight for Floyd?

The way I see it, both Floyd and Cotto (to me) aren't prime anymore. That's not to say either is shot either, but I think people still put Floyd on the pedestal he was in (and where I held him at as well) when he was much younger because obviously, he hasn't been beaten. But at the same time, if you look at the competition he's faced since Oscar, how does Cotto not fit and or not be at the same level or above some of the guys he's fought since? He beat Mosley in 2007 and Hell, even Hatton's own people back then were telling Hatton to stay away from Cotto:

All in all, I'm about seeing fights we haven't seen yet. IMO, both Floyd and Cotto could put on a much better fight than people think even if Floyd is still heavily favored, much better than his last previous 3 opponents. But to each his own.
