I love Jermain. I have rooted for him in every single fight in his career, bit no way is it the best. Hopkins, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Roy Jones, Holyfield, Margarito, Mosley, Marquez, Barrera, Cotto, Morales and I would even say Paul Williams all have better resumes. They just have more W's where Jermain has D's and L's. They also have many more fights, in number, on their resumes.

But Jermain has as much heart as any of 'em.

almost everyone you named is retired or irrelevant and virtually retired. I meant active and relevant fighters

Like I said, I love me some Jermain, but really? You think he's more relevant than Cotto, Marquez, Pacquiao Mayweather and Hopkins? I'd say Taylor is on about the same level of Paul Williams. I wouldn't say either one is more relevant than the other.

And come on, that Nicklow dude couldn't hurt a fly.

spinks was acctually ranked #3 p4p at one point back when he was undisputed WW champion.

he deserved it too, he went to italy and beat piccirillo for the first. takes balls to fight a champion (who has a win on you) in his home county when you cant punch a lick. then he beat mayorga who collected his two belts seperatley knocking out andrew lewis and vernon forrest. then he defended against judah who only lost to tszyu back then and was on a hot streak since (including winning a world title).

spinks gets severely overrated around here (and in general). he was a very good fighter in his prime, not great or one of the best of his era but a good fighter and tough oponent for anyone.

Personally, I would prefer a resume with a host of notable names with a few losses on it than a resume with all wins and no notable names on it.

                      That's a clear loss.

You can make a better argument for Spinks beating Taylor.

Or Hopkins over Taylor in the first fight.
to me the loss wasnt that clear...scored it for taylor with a point in his favor the first time panda saw it and a draw the second time

to me pavlik didnt clearly win the second fight
