because Suliaman and the other corrupt crooks at the WBC gave Chavez Jr and Canelo "world championship" belts after fighting less than world class opponents (thats putting it nicely). Then after that these crooks let them defend these worthless "world championships" vs has-beens, no hopers, and never vs a world class opponent. All this while world class fighter aren't getting the opportunities they deserve. This is what is killing this great sport. As long as this bull**** continues boxing will never again be a main stream sport!

Agreed, and I add that I don't think that Chavez Jr is extremely talented, he's just decent IMO.

And what about the wbo handing out wilfredo vazquez a vacant belt againt a guy moving up two weight divisons. There are many champions who are gifted a belt but no one says anything only for these two bc the are stars. And rubio is a great opponent and so was rhodes for canelo. These young guys cant be fighting world class opponents at every turn not even the pound for guys dp look at martinez barker really?

I used to hate them both, but the more I see of both these dudes, the more I like. I'm not even really sure why I hated them I just did. Especially Chavez. But damn I really like what Chavez Jr. is about. He knows he has haters. He knows he will always be compared to his father and never live up to his legacy, but still the kid says **** what y'all think, and keeps fighting and winning and getting better. I love his attitude and the kid seems to be tougher and ballsier and more skilled than people wanna give him credit for.

The only reason I can think why the hate for Canelo is maybe he is seen as a threat to Pac/May. He gets it from both sides. Idk.

Neither of these kids have done anything to deserve hate yet. They have said or done nothing. Their careers are still in the sniffing butt stages. Wait till they start beating some dudes and then we'll see what happens.

Everybody has a frickin championship belt these days. Being a "champion" does not mean the same thing it used to mean. I don't even concern myself with ****** chmpionship belts. Who cares who's got a belt??? It doesn't matter.

i hate them because i dont think hbo should be wasting money on showcase fights. chavez debuted in 2003, and alvarez in 2005. they both have 40 or more fights. it's time to step up. *****....it's BEEN time. especially chavez. and if they aint ready, get off of hbo and make room in the budget for good fights.
