    Did HBO let Martinez walk?

I looked at Boxrec and saw Martinez V Macklin slated for Showtime. Is Martinez not fighting on HBO any longer? HBO let Williams walk too. Rather waste money on Alverez and JCC jr than Martinez.......

The rumor mill says it might show up on Showtime, as Martinez has ditched HBO for the time being, and we suspect his promoter Lou DiBella is enjoying the new competitive spirit in the air as Showtime’s new boss Stephen Espinoza seeks to make a splash in the New Year.

Martinez dumps WBC belt, may leave HBO for Showtime

THE RING middleweight champion Sergio Martinez renounced his WBC "Diamond" belt, publicly denounced comments attributed to WBC president Jose Sulaiman that he believes are insensitive to women, and said that he may pursue Showtime over HBO, which he feels has mistreated him, at a press conference on Thursday in his native Argentina.

Good for Martinez to move to SHOWTIME that just makes more room for him on Showtime.

Maybe now we'll really see if he really is scared of fighting Pirog and Zbik

So it isn't official. Boxrec is just saying it's a good chance. Not good on HBO's part. Not only is Martinez exciting and talented but he's the freaking middle weight champion of the world. That's one of the most historic divisions in boxing.

HBO did cost him the belt and denied a Zbik fight only to give it too jr
So can't fault him for moving over to Showtime

Surprising HBO would not pick it up since they basically built him, but if they don't want to pay for that fight not much Sergio can do except move along. If the right fights comes up I am sure they would pay to bring Sergio back since he is still an HBO guy.

I'm OK with HBO not buying this fight. If they do buy they shouldn't pay that much for it. It's a damn mismatch.
