Pirog has nice skills and seems like he should be a top fighter in the world, but there's something missing there imo. And i like dude a lot.

He's inactive, he poosyfoots around certain guys and it just seems like his team doesnt have the utmost confidence in him. It's disheartening because not a lot of dudes have his skillset and pop. Its always something with dude. If you want big fights and you're in your 30s, you gotta be willing to take more chance if ou think you're the man.

What's the sense of chasing that worm Sturm around? Dude is a waste of a belt and is only interested in the most dough for the least risk. Pirog lost all his momentum from the Jacobs win and there are dudes he can get in the ring with right now and make a name for himself against (golovkin, geale, etc). Come back to the us and chase maravella around. DO SOMETHING besides talk about big fights.
I've read some of your posts, you're a good poster but seem misinformed on this topic. It'd be nice if you could list some names he's poosyfooting around. Maybe Golovkin, but check the link I posted above, doesn't seem that team GG wants it either.

The reason he's after Sturm is this:

Pirog has chased him around before, but this time Sturm seems ready to talk, maybe cause the WBA will mandate Sturm-Golovkin unless he's unifying. Still, expect Sturm to go after Geale first.

As for going after Sergio, what's the point. He might as well call out Pac or PBF, it's more money and about the same chance of happening. LDB was clear that Pirog needs more name recognition, which he's trying for by going after the other beltholders in Sturm and Geale. Unfortunately there was no network interest in the US for the Geale fight.

have you been paying attention to sturms career? his last 2 fights were supposed to be tune ups but he looked like crap and now those guys are considered legit but are they really or is sturm just an overrated bum? he will never fight someone who is actually dangerous.

I would agree except that it seems like the WBA might be serious about ordering the GG fight. Maybe the reason is that GG just recently signed with K2 promotions, who are not major league, but still way more powerful than Sturm's new independent gig.

And yes, Sturm does make his opponents look good. The shortest road to MW top 10 leads through him now that Sylvester is out.

Which is probably why Pirog's promoters are staying far away from a Golovkin bout.
From the few Golovkin fights I've seen, he just doesn't really impress me. He was being mostly outboxed by Ouma until the knock out. And while Golovkin might have p4p power, he supposedly walks around 162 pounds so he's a small middleweight. Sturm is pretty big and I'm not assured Golovkin's power will transfer over against a top true middleweight. Sturm would probably have +10 pounds on him.

Pirog better be ready to get robbed if he goes the distance against Sturm because in Germany, they won't hesistate to rob him.

I though GG did well considering how young he is and seeing as how Ouma is a tough, experienced vet.

That performance is more impressive than beating a green prospect in Daniel Jacobs. (who may have had a cancerous tumor growing around his spine at the time.)

I was specifically talking about Martinez and Gennedy. There was the offer to ftht sergio in russia that was kicked around (remind me again why they wanted to have the hamp come to them). And the on again/off again golvkin deals.

The most telling indication though is who he's fought over the last 2 years and how often. If that aint poosyfootin around, i dont know what is. I mean, stay busy, DO SOMETHING to keep your momentum besides politic.

This is probably accurate though i wont believe it till i see it. K2 know what they're doing and they know sturm's a bum with a jab.

This is self explanatory, I'm surprised so many are getting hung up on it, it must be willful blindness. If it's up to Pirog to make the fight, you expect him to offer it at Foxwoods? Or Argentina? Where does he get the money? Apparently in Russia he has enough pull to muster up a very decent offer, more than any of us would have guessed. His promoters have zero sway with the premium networks, so if he wants to fight Sergio here, he's at LDB's mercy to make the offer, bankrolled by HBO or SHO since neither guy is a draw here.

Again, there was no on again/off again deal with Golovkin. 3 weeks ago his trainer said (for the first time afaik) they wanted to fight Pirog, 1 week after GG's manager said they had no interest in that fight at this time. You must be thinking of Geale, which has been discussed and rejected by the tv networks.
