He was a pretty big puncher, but did not punch with the technique of a ko artist, he always preferred to throw in combination, and later on he refined his technique further and would throw with less power, you would only really see him dig to the body.

        I think Calzaghe got weak at the weight at 168, back in his mid-20s he was a big strong guy at the weigh-ins - in his mid-30s he looked like an Ephiopian at the weigh-ins

          Heavy handed and big puncher are two different things. Eric Harding was heavy-handed.
