I’ve read somewhere that Roy said of all the people that he didn’t fight (quite a few) -- Eubank would’ve been the trickiest of them all. Probably validates the notion of a duck in his mind.

@Surgeon .. At least Benn’s keeping it real.

You can knock Jones and Mosley for steroids since their athleticism was a huge part of their game, but a guy like Toney -- it's a stretch to say his skills came from juicing when he was out of shape for about 60% of his career.

You do realise Calzaghe was a big puncher before he had all the hand troubles which forced him to adapt? He had Eubank down early.

Thus why he gets so much stick for slapping, he spent the best part of his career with the worst sort of injury.

Put Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank or Joe Calzaghe on steroids and see how well they fight as supercharged machines, dangerous men already, but of course they would never do that, they're better people.
no its just that british fighters suck

At best, Calzaghe was a solid puncher but he never was a big puncher.

Eubank also states that Calzaghe threw arm punches at him all night. He is very contradicting with his statements and seems to be in a constant state of confusion.

Eubank is contradictory he always was, just dont think he was as clever as he always aspired to be. Im sure he admits in his autobiography that he would of faced Jones if he had to but that he would never of been the same fighter after.
I would of loved for Eubank and Benn to have had a series of fights with Jones and Toney, it truly could've been the Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran of the 90's.
I wasnt as impressesd with juniors pro debut as everyone else seemed to be, yes it was a tidy enough showing for a first time out but the amount of shots he wasted on his opponents high guard was amatuerish and highly uneconomical, first time nerves i guess.

I didn't see many foot pivots or waist twists with Joe's loaded winging southpaw left hooks

Eubank on why he didn't fight the very best--

'I fought the very best. I was unfortunate that I had a fighter called Roy Jones around in the Eubank era, who was really in a class of his own and it would be good if he didn't count, because he was out there on his own.
