I think, honestly, that the super, regular, DIAMOND AND SILVER titles have definitely went a long ways towards making the titles worthless, yes. I hate to say it but its true...Ill tell u why: Right now I honestly cannot tell u who the official middleweight champ is...the silver and the diamond got me all messed up. I hate it. I wish it was cut and dry and I wish the Govt' could step in and straighten it all out. On another nore, I will assume that the Roccigianni-Nunn situation is what started all of these different WBC titles into coming into existence.

I understand Martinez's frustration with HBO as well. He was told he couldn't face Zbik on HBO, so he took a fight that got him stripped. Chavez then fought Zbik on HBO for Martinez's title.

So not only is the WBC working against him, but HBO as well. Maybe not in unison, but it must feel that way for Sergio.

I think the greatest thing that could happen to boxing right now would be for Mayweather and Pacquiao to not only fight, but also vacate all of their titles beforehand and refuse to pay sanctioning fees.

That would make a huge statement to the boxing world that the fights are bigger than the belts.

Obviously Mayweather and Pacquiao have allegiances with the sanctioning bodies that have awarded them with so many dubious title opportunities, but at the same time they would most likely both be retiring afterward so it wouldn't matter as much if they burned a few bridges.

Martinez is the champ plain and simple.

        Seems pretty simply doesn't it?

Even the JCC Jr. fans who will no doubt proclaim him as the champ know deep down that it isn't true and his belt isn't worth the material it was made with.
