Sergio Martinez you didn't know? Bob Arum runs the sport of boxing. Pretty much got everyone in his pocket. This should show everyone how shady and protective Bob Arum is of his fighters.

Sadly the sport of boxing is not about boxing anyone but rather "matching and profiting" like all industries I might add. And people wonder why so many business are going under or people lose interest fast. It's because these corporations, businesses, companies etc..... are just in it for the short run and don't know how to build up a brand without trying to cushion the risks. Boxing became a favored sport because of the fights won and lost in the ring but the promoters forgot or don't care what made boxing great and much rather prefer to make a bunch of bratty kids or spoiled fighters into untested champions by marketing and promoting them by name instead of by heart and skill. That's why we got whiners like Amir Khan in the sport and a guy like Lamont Peterson looked at as a unskilled fighter. Amir finally fought someone who was not going to lay down or be easy to defeat and Khan lost. Same happened to Lopez (Salido), Ortiz (Maidana), Berto (Ortiz), Pac (JMM 3). Boxing has fallen hard over the years and the only people who can do something about it are milking the fans and creating hype to support their match making ways. Bob Arum said it the best. This is entertainment and no expects Manny to lose but rather pay to see him fight and beat up guys that can't win. What kind of boxing philosophy is that?

As Floyd mentioned before that Belts don't make a champion is proven here. A non deserving Champ (Chavez JR) has a belt, yet would not fight other champs with other belts. Rather fight a NOBODY than fight a real champ. As Grustler said, Arum owns boxing. Boxing is dying little by little because of this Promotional camp, they are not making the meaningful fights the sport of boxing needs to rise back up in the map. This is a joke. I'm against Martinez calling out smaller fighters so I don't agree with him on that, but am with him on this one. Chavez nd his whole team are all bullshht. Chavez Jr's dad should slap nd wake his son up nd dress him up in man clothes.

MARTINEZ... CALL OUT BERNARD HOPKINS! Wuss, Grow A Pair!!!

Martinez always has a gripe. Can't fight Chavez. He's always calling out smaller fights for a payday in Mayweather and Pacquiao. Tell Sergio to step up and go the other way; call out BERNARD HOPKINS! A 48 year old BERNARD HOPKINS! He won't do that!!! Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns (Legends I might add), went all the way up to Light Heavyweight, taking on challenges. Martinez getting roughed up by Barker in his own weight class, and insisting he wants to fight Floyd & Manny, who on fight night would weigh 25lbs less than Martinez.... but Sergio WON'T go the other way and call out an old Bernard Hopkins... he's scared. Grow a pair, Sergio.

You do know that Chavez Jr ducked Sergio Martinez right? A guy his size if not bigger. That's the point of him dropping the WBC title because someone in his division will not fight him. Also, Sergio has to be the most ducked fighter in a long time. Vernon Forrest (RIP) ducked Sergio at 154 for a looooonnnng time until he had to just give up the title. I'm not for Sergio going after Pac and Floyd either but can't blame the man for trying consider Floyd beat Oscar at 154 for his WBC AND Oscar was/is way bigger than Floyd and bigger than Martinez. Also, Pac won Sergio's title that he was stripped for vacantly. Why shouldn't he call them out? Bernard Hopkins is too big for Sergio at Light Heavy. My advice to Sergio Martinez would be to forget Pac/Floyd and just fight at MW. Rack up like 2 or 3 good solid wins against solid opponents and he should be good. How come people criticize Martinez for Barker? Dude had a Ninja Turtle defense and Sergio had to figure him out to get through and when he did. KO'd him. What's not impressive about that? What happened to boxing fans?

Very good opinion, I like your way of thinking had to give props. My two cents is guess how will be the new Full Super Diamond Platnium MW champ of the world if he wins his next fight.
