It fits perfectly. It makes Manny look like a God when he fights guys that come forward. Doubt Petterson will fight the same way, but he said that he was going to try to counter punch Khan (Peterson said he was going to fight like Marquez fought Pac) and didnt happened. But they want Manny to look great again.

People can sit up and talk all this **** about Lamont, but this kid is the truth! Khan gave him a harder time than what Manny will. Lamont is a true complete fighter. He wouldn't fight Manny the same way that he fought Khan. The blue print is out on Manny and Lamont is good enough and smart enough to execute it. Manny would not be able to stand up to those body blows, plus he would have to reach and jump in to catch him. That will lead to disaster. Roach is just emotional right now. But believe me, Bob Arum is a smart man and will never let this fight happen.

Manny and Floyd avoid fighters like Peterson and Bradley for a reason. Too much risk and not enough reward. These guys are hardcore bluecollar type fighters that come in shape and are very good at their craft. They are complete fighters that simply aren't marketable. Both remind me of Hagler. He didn't get the same limelight as Leonard but kept grinding it out until the public put pressure on Ray to fight him. Its the same as these 2. The difference is these guys are in their prime while Floyd and Manny are towards the end of their careers. It will be a huge mistake for either to fight them now. But the truth is, Bradley and Peterson both deserve it.

I like Peterson and think he is a good fighter with a lot of heart. That being said his style of fighting is exactly the reason Roach wants him in addition to the fact that he has a win over Khan. Peterson does not let his hands go enough and is rarely 'first' when initiating action in the ring. That is exactly the style that suits Pac best in the ring just look at Clottey, Margarito, Mosley as recent opposition who fit that criteria. Cowardly move by Roach and team Pac if this goes through. They just keep showing their true colors of how Pac has been brought up through perfect match making. Wait for the Berto vs Ortiz winner or go after Bradley, team Pac needs to challenge themselves something that hadn't happened with Pac till JMM schooled him this November.

Good fight but Pac/bradley is way better.

peterson is too passive and chinny his tempermant is tailor made for pac however I wouldnt be surprised to see him make a serious fight of it.pac gets hits cleanly and solidly,he cant fight on the inside for shiaat so we know hes gonna eat some leather, and peterson gets tagged alot but once he manages to get inside he does well.I agree team pac is looking for someone to look great agains; since the shine is seriousley off pac in terms of the "superfight" pac was just made to look by JMM like hes simply not at that level to compete with a mayweather, looking at pacs opposition is very telling for those who care too see it, they pick fighters with accomodating styles or guys whom are simply washed up or old.peterson could be another cherry pick gone awry ........bradley or peterson would make good fights Bradley is more solid but Peterson hits harder.

Forget about anything that happened at 140, Ortiz was clearly killing himself to make weight and is a much better fighter at welter.
Ortiz.....
* was ranked the third best welter on the planet, which is ranked higher than anyone Manny has ever fought at 147, either before or since
* gave Pac fits in sparring, Roach described that session as "the best sparring ever"
* beat a guy who was already on Pacquiao's shortlist
Peterson has done none of those things, he is completely unproven at welter, and strangely enough still has unfinished business with Khan at 140.
Lets not forget that Pacquiao refused to fight Ortiz.
How the *** is Peterson "worthy", and yet Ortiz was "unworthy" ?

I have often stated that Pac is feeding on nothing but old men, faded champions, and bums..... but the real point is that he will not fight anyone who is on top of his game, it is all about "timing" and made-to-order opponents
Trampler and Arum have done a masterful job.Last edited by LeadUppercut; 12-27-2011, 07:07 PM.
