The reason he keeps his hands so low is firstly to set up his jab. This enables him to be in STRIKING position at all times. He doesn't have to prepare his jab by loading it because it's already out of the holster... so ANY move his opponent makes.. he's ready to strike first... the jab is essentially Vitali PLAYING D. Secondly.. the right hand is held low because that's the punch he uses for offense.

He dares you to hit him because he already knows he's in position to hit you & trusts in the fact he can get out of the way of your incoming shot by keeping you at bay with his fists & leaning back out of harms way..

He has an uncanny ability to sense when his opponent wants to throw something & trusts in his reflexes.. the rare times when this line of defense fails.. he KNOWS he'll be able to roll with any shot you land by being positioned further away from the punch & it takes away some of the sting. Getting hit by a punch ONLY wakes Vitali up & just increases the volume of punches he throws in retaliation.. so i suggest you make it a good one like Sanders & Lewis did on a few occasions.
lol, I can tell from your posts you got a lot of passion for the sport. Good for you man. You make some good points, the jab is definitely a huge weapon in his arsenal.

LMFAO..... he used a substance in the Olympics for an injury (what else). He learned his lesson by getting whacked from the team. He OBVIOUSLY hasn't used it in the pros..... otherwise he'd be 45 -0. His only 2 defeats could've been avoided with an injection or 2.. His 4 year retirement could've been avoided as well. Trust me A Vitali Klitschko on PEDS would've completely shutdown the heavyweight division.. I wish he would've taken a few injections for the Byrd & Lewis bouts.. then we would've had the REAL outcomes & him being injury free.. forget about it.. Thank your lucky stars Vitali is Not A PROFESSIONAL cheat.. he'd be literally ILLEGAL!

I said slugger, but I did so because he was a puncher.

Boxer-Puncher...my man Jim, you know that it's a style and it has nothing to do with how hard you actually hit? Even if you try to make the argument that Vitali hits harder than Foreman or Shavers (he doesn't but that's another fight for another day), the style is nothing alike. Vitali is awkward and unorthodox, setting up his punches with the jab and making his opponents miss with head movement. Look at George Foreman KTFO Frazier or Norton. Bomb. Bomb. Bomb. Bomb. Bomb. Vitali fights nothing like that at all. He ain't a slugger dude.

Watch his early career b4 bYRD.. you'll see bombs getting rid of opponents & trust me son... when Vitali wants to bomb you out of there.. you're getting STOPPED... he went easy on Briggs (a former fishing buddy) once he realized what his goal was & that he was hitting him at will while the ref wasn't doing his job to protect Briggs.. look how he blasted out Kirk Johnson.. Herbie Hide & Odlanier Solis... Danny Williams might've been the walking dead once Vitali was through using him as a ping pong ball. There's 2 Vitali's.. one who gives you a prolonged hospital induced beatdown like he did with a bit of tears shed like he did with Briggs.. Sanders & Areolla & there's a vindictive Vitali who decides he's going to stop you in an instant. If you watched the final rd of Sosnowski.. Gomez & recent victim Adamek... you'll have seen a Vitali who decided he was going to stop you WITHOUT your consent. He stopped Solis & Hide with temple shots & two of this eras most notorious sluggers Peter & Areolla quit because they couldn't stop Vitali from slugging them.. If this ain't a slugger.. I don't know who is.

Foreman i listed as runnerup.. most of his Ko's were also cumulative mini bombs.. he didn't always stop his opponent with one shot like he did with Moorer. Foreman like Vitali hit you hard with every shot he threw & was a notorious arm puncher.
