Blessing in disguise. I've been against this fight since the get. Morales has nothing to gain from fighting a relatively unkown prospect like Garcia, but everything to lose. His stock is hot right now after his last two fights. He should pursue Marquez for the nostalgia & $$$$, or Maidana for a rematch. Other than that, maybe soto or a revenge fight against David Diaz(not in CHI). Although those last two wouldn't offer much of a payday. I just don't want to see GBP or any promoter use El Terrible's name as a stepping stone to fame.

Based on what do you say that? Who he has fought? He made less than 30,000 in his fight against Alfaro, he made less than 25,000 in his fight against De Jesus. Why he shouldn't take this fight other than fear? It'd be by far his biggest payday and he's a businessman, right?

i really didn't like this fight to begin with because i thought this was a bad matchup for morales. i honestly favor garcia ud'ing him. i wish it would've been matthysse or marquez instead. hopefully it's a great fight though, i know the other fight on the card (kirkland/molina) will be.

30,000 ain't bad for fighting on mexican T.v. Add sponsors to that equation and you get a pretty penny for a safe stay busy non tittle fight.

Don't get me wrong. If soto turned down the fight, thats a shame! He would of gotten good money for fighting on HBO. I guess he's waiting to land a fight against Morales or Barrera.

GBP offered Soto the fight a week ago. He said no. -chicken-

They told him it would be a non-title fight.

Soto is the #1 ranked 140lber and Garcia is #2.

The rule is, if the champion (Morales) is ill, then an Interim Title is made by the top contenders, but Morales told the WBC to not make it an Interim WBC 140lbs title, cause Morales doesnt want Soto to become a 4-Divisional world champion, cause Morales is jealous of Soto and doesnt want to fight Soto either.

Garcia is no match for Soto.
Soto would KO him easily.

Its just that Soto is in line a a 4th world title shot against Maidana or Maidana's replacement this March.

fighting Garcia will not get him a title shot anytime soon, it will just stall Soto's career.
