Calzaghe should either come out of retirement and fight Ward or just shut his balding ass head. Ward would give him a boxing lesson. Calzaghe had ONE, count it, ONE quality win in his whole career and that was a close decision over Hopkins. He didn't have anything that would make Ward think twice about getting inside on him. Calzaghe was a little more busy than Ward, maybe he would win some rounds but that's it. Calzaghe is one of the most overrated fighters in history. Who did he really beat? Go away Joe...or come back and get destroyed by SOG!!!

Slappy threw his last real punch against byron mitchell. You would have to be sharing a pipe with ordinary Joe to think hes an ATG. Oh wait he beat Jeff Lacy. With the exception of Hopkins, all his wins came versus fighters whose careers were swirling the toilet. Calzaghe moved well, but his hands turned to peanut brittle. He didnt retire because he accomplished all he wanted, he retired cause he couldnt crack an egg without needing surgery. I think Ward is boring to watch, and has the pesonality of unbuttered toast. as too who would win? In england-Joe, In California-Ward, In reality-who cares.

Pretty interesting match-up, any place outside of England, it's a pick-um fight in my opinion. Two facts present itself in this fantasy match-up: 1) Ward would be Joe's slickest fighter since Hopkins, but vastly younger thus more of a challenge 2) Joe would be, by far, the busier guy; therefore, the one pressing the fight.

I don't know, this one's a tough call, because Joe throws a barage of punches at guys who tend to cover up, something that neither Hopkins nor Ward tends to do--both preferring to use their superior footwork to get out of punching range. Both Hopkins and Ward are great at tieing their man up--which is something you absolutely have to do against a quick combo puncher like Joe-or he'll nail you.

In the Hopkins match-up I thought it was just simply a case of Joe slightly out-working Bernard, but Hopkins, by far landed the cleaner punches. Could 've went either way, but I had no problem with the decision though.

In the fight with Roy Jones, aka, Reflex Roy, Joe fought a great fight against a fighter that was clearly past his prime. Fact is, a prime Roy with his reflexes was unbeatable: if Roy would've stopped at the Ruiz fight, he easily makes it onto most top 10 list, w/o question.

he had nothing to lose during his career either. if he lost that would smash his legacy of being the best bum fighter on the planet? he was just a coward plain and simple. he even pretended to be scared of flying and used that as the reason he couldn't fight over here. then he cured himself when hopkins and jones were older than dirt. then he retired...........this is an all time great wow boxing is garbage then.

hopkins wasn't allowed to fight on the inside because cortez was the ref(i'm sure not an accident)

so shouldn't hopkins win? why would it go either way? throwing more punches has no bearing on scoring a fight. you can say it counts against ineffective aggression but what does it count for? ring generalship possibly? so he possibly won 1 criteria out of the 4 and he clearly lost in clean punching, effective aggression, and defense. either way? what a world.

i don't kno much about either fighter, since ward fights on showtime, i dont have showtime, i didn't hear about calzaghe until my friend started talking about him and how he's really good...i saw a few of his later fights...jeff lacy, and some other american's he fought... but the little bit that i've seen of him i really liked...very ****y sob...gets in ur head when he's on a roll...weird kinda style that comes at u at weird angles... right now joe isn't that old either considering that he never took a beating, never been in any deep wars that i know of...not like hes shop warn or anything...if he really wanted to he could fight ward

I thought Ward took Kessler apart more convincingly than Calzaghe.
